Hi quick question. My neighbours moved out a few years ago and have been renting their house out since.
Currently there is someone associated with the renters living in the yard in a large tent. They are very clean, and quiet so no trouble but just the fact they are outside 24/7 has me suspecting the person has no home.
I’m glad they have a safe spot but I am wondering if they could end up with squatters rights? If so how long does that take. I won’t worry about it if it takes a year or more.
The renters say the person is “staying with them a while” so maybe it wouldn’t create a squatters rights situation since it’s technically a guest of the person with the lease. So there would be guardrails on the situation if it goes sideways.
Hope this question is ok. Hopefully it’s a non issue.
