I am a middle class gay man who has a partner that is a lawyer and kind of well-off. He pays for my apartment and when we go out, he’s the one who pays.
I know that he likes me for my physical appearance but I also have some opinion about stuff. I feel like he doesn’t value my opinion. Whenever we talk about stuff like politics, he brushes me off and acts dismissive.
He bought me stuff that I couldn’t afford myself. I like him because he is smart but I am starting to feel this annoyance whenever we discuss something that I feel like I can also share my thoughts on.
I know that I am not his equal. He is smarter than me and definitely more successful than me financially. How do you think I can make him be more interested in what I want to say or talk about?
