I posted my graded Pokémon project a few days ago… we’re already nearing 2,000 community sales logged

A few days ago I made a post about a project I’ve been building called CheckAGrade and honestly I didn’t expect the response it got.

The whole reason I started building it was because graded Pokémon collectors still feel massively overlooked compared to raw cards.

Once you get into slabs properly, everything becomes weirdly fragmented:

  • inconsistent pricing
  • barely any TAG support
  • hard to track populations
  • no proper slab history
  • community features missing everywhere

Since that post though, the community has already started helping push this thing forward way faster than I expected.

We’re now getting close to 2,000 confirmed community-submitted sales in the database already which is honestly crazy to me for something this early.

People have started helping build:

  • graded pricing data
  • TAG pop reports
  • cross-grader comparisons
  • slab history tracking
  • collector collections
  • community market data

And this is the part I think is coolest:

The site is already starting to evolve based on collector feedback instead of me just randomly adding features nobody asked for.

I don’t want this to become another corporate-feeling collecting app.

I want it to feel like something actually built by collectors for collectors.

The long term goal is a proper community-driven platform (and eventually app) where collectors can:

  • track collections
  • follow real market data
  • show off cards
  • track slab history
  • buy/sell/trade
  • help build population estimates
  • shape the features they actually want

Right now it’s still super early.
Still growing.
Still rough around the edges in places.
But honestly I think that’s what makes this stage exciting.

If anyone wants to be part of helping shape this thing early, I’d genuinely love more collectors involved.

Especially people into graded cards like PSA/BGS/CGC/TAG etc because the more community data that gets added, the better and more useful the platform becomes for everyone.

Mods if this isn’t allowed please remove and sorry ❤️

Building a community-driven Pokémon grading + pricing platform for collectors

Hey everyone,

Over the last few months I’ve been building a project called CheckAGrade — a community-driven Pokémon card platform focused mainly on graded cards and real collector data.

The main reason I started building it is because most pricing sites honestly feel:

  • cluttered
  • outdated
  • focused mostly on raw cards
  • or disconnected from the actual community

As someone who collects graded cards myself (PSA/BGS/CGC/TAG etc), I wanted something that felt modern and actually useful for collectors.

The site currently lets people:

  • track collections
  • submit cards
  • view RAW pricing
  • build graded card databases
  • create accounts/profiles
  • contribute community-driven data

One of the biggest goals long term is building REAL collector-driven grading insights without scraping sites or breaking any ToS.

For example:

  • users can add graded cards they own
  • optionally add certification numbers
  • cards can slowly build ownership/sales history
  • over time this creates community-driven population insights and real market trends

The important part is that the data comes from collectors themselves rather than just blindly scraping everything possible.

We’ve already started getting card submissions onto the platform which is honestly really cool to see, but the project still massively depends on the community growing.

So if anyone wants to:

  • test the site
  • add cards
  • give feedback
  • suggest features
  • report bugs
  • or just help shape something new for collectors

I’d genuinely appreciate it.

I got tired of awful Pokémon card price sites… so I built my own

Hey everyone,

For the last few months I’ve been building a site called CheckAGrade because honestly… I got fed up with how bad most Pokémon price tracking sites are for graded cards.

Everything either:

  • has terrible data,
  • only tracks raw cards properly,
  • is insanely cluttered,
  • or feels like it was built in 2009.

I collect graded cards myself (PSA/BGS/CGC/TAG etc) and wanted something that felt more like a proper modern collection + price checking platform specifically for graded collectors.

The idea behind the site is to:

  • track actual sold prices from collectors/community submissions,
  • build real market data over time,
  • let people search graded cards properly,
  • and eventually make it a genuinely useful platform for collectors instead of another ad-filled mess.

The site is still early and I’m actively building it every day, so right now there’s currently no TAG or eBay sold data integrated yet — only RAW pricing data while the database gets populated by the community. That’s actually one of the biggest reasons I’m posting this now instead of waiting until later.

I’d genuinely love collectors helping shape what this becomes from the start.

A huge thing for me is that I don’t want this to turn into one of those soulless investor/flipper platforms. I want it to feel community-built and genuinely useful for people who actually love collecting.

So if anyone wants to:

  • test it,
  • break it,
  • roast it,
  • suggest features,
  • or upload some cards/prices to help build the database,

I’d massively appreciate it.

Would genuinely love feedback — even brutal feedback.
