The prequels and original are good but The sequels are also nice.

GOKU IS not planetary level
Goku caps at planetary at best. In both the anime and manga, we've never actually seen him destroy a planet. Everyone just scales him off statements and other characters. Feats > assumptions.

I personally don't think the the sequels are bad
The cinematography and overall production design are top-tier. Even the most vocal critics often point out that the movies are stunning to look at. Also Many viewers find the movies to be highly entertaining and fast-paced standalone sci-fi adventures.

My opinion on vegeta as a father
vegeta is a terrible father and a completely failed character. His entire personality is just throwing a tantrum because he's permanently stuck in Goku's shadow. He has literally never won a major fight against a main villain.
