Seeking Managers Advice on L3 Regulated Waste Coordinator role

I recently got an offer for an L3 Regulated Waste Coordinator role at Amazon FC, and honestly I’m really confused whether I should accept it or reject it.

My long-term goal is operations management / L4 Area Manager path. Right now I work in Outbound Problem Solve and sometimes I cover PA tasks when needed, so I interact a lot with associates, help manage flow/issues, coordinate between people, and I actually enjoy the operational side and leadership side of the work.

I applied for multiple L3 roles and this is the one I got accepted for. Funny enough, when I originally applied, I wasn’t even that interested in the role. After I got the offer, I started asking around and discovered the role is somehow closer to Problem Solve than I expected, but I still don’t fully understand how much growth there really is in it.

My concern is:
- Will this role actually help me move toward L4?
- Or is it more of a dead-end compliance/specialist role?
- Does it build leadership skills or visibility?
- Is it respected as a stepping stone internally?
- Or is it mostly just handling waste processes and audits without much people leadership?

One of my managers advised me to accept it anyway because “getting the L3 first is the hardest step,” and later I can try to move internally once I’m already L3. He also told me there are currently no PA openings available, so I can’t switch the offer to another L3 ops role right now.

Part of me feels maybe I should wait for a PA role since that aligns more directly with operations leadership. But another part of me feels rejecting an L3 offer in the current market could be a mistake.

Would really appreciate advice from people who worked in this role before, or anyone who moved from specialist L3 roles into L4 operations later.
