AM Intern
I am about to start as an intern and I was originally a T1 associate. Do we not accrue UPT or standard PTO in this position? Looked at my A to Z today and noticed those aren’t on it anymore.

I will start I am a L5 AM who got promoted a couple months ago and currently work in a 1DC. I make 82,000 base pay and my total comp is 90.7k.
Quick question what is the pay band for most L5?
Any advice on passing the L6 assessment?
Kinda crazy how fast a year goes by at this place. I remember it like it was yesterday posting that I actually got the job on my old account when I was still living in my college dorm room. A lot has happened within a span of a few months. Learned a lot, made a lot of friends in my new location, got into some trouble outside of work can’t lie lol. You guys were right tho, the team that you get put in will really make or break your experience as being leadership in this company. I truly lucked out with my team. We are super tight knit and always there for each other. Couldn’t ask for a better team. Trying to see what’s next tho. As much as I love my location, there really isn’t any open positions past L5 as nobody wants to leave once they reach L6+ (we are a super small speciality site) trying to see what’s the next chapter as I’m next in line for L5. Plan on staying at this company long term so might as well start making the right moves now to better position myself. I already had Amazon air in mind as my next step in operations but would like to know what paths everyone else took within the company.
Hello everyone,
I have an interview coming up for the Graduate Area Manager position, and to be completely honest, I am feeling pretty nervous! I’ve looked up some videos on YouTube, but I still feel like I’m missing a lot of pieces.
I’ve never held a role quite like this before, so I have a couple of questions for anyone who has gone through the process or worked the job:
- 1. What is the actual nature of the work? Since I haven't worked in a similar environment, what does a typical shift look like on a day-to-day basis?
- 2. What should I expect in the interviews? What kinds of questions do they ask, and what are they really looking for in a graduate candidate?
If anyone has any specific tips, question banks, or advice on how to walk into this feeling prepared, please drop them below. I would appreciate it so much!
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone! I’m starting as an AM this Monday and had a few questions.
I know the dress code is pretty casual, but are there any specific dos and don’ts I should know about? I also noticed associates use clear/transparent bags. Do AMs need to use one too, or can we bring a regular backpack or tote?
Also, what should I expect during AEW? Any tips for surviving the first week or things you wish you knew before starting?
I’d really appreciate any advice. I’m excited, but also pretty anxious about starting. Thanks in advance!
like the title says, I applied for am and opm, however I dont fully graduate until October when I finish my final class and wouldn't have my degree until December due to the universities policy. Like I'm happy I got offered a position but damn, waiting 6 months just to start does suck
As for this title states, I'm currently an L4 AM started as a tier one and directly promoted to a tier 4 after 2 years through the campus next program. I was wondering how likely will I be able to transfer into a role that better fits my skill set into a supply chain manager role instead of an area manager role. I'd like to know how that transition worked for individuals that made the transfer. Thanks.
Did anyone receive an email that laptops will not be distributed at AD1 during the three weeks from June 15 to July 12? I already emailed my site leader about picking up my laptop before AD1 but I’m afraid she will not respond to me since the holiday is coming up. Do you think we will get it in time before I leave Monday?
I’m an incoming Area Manager. After completing AD1 and AEW training, my work schedule will be Wednesday-Sunday 6:30PM-5AM.
This is my first “real” job and first time being a manager or working a shift like this.
Is this a good schedule? Please give me all the tips, tricks, insight, information you have!
promo was submitted and approved, during q2. when will it take affect in phonetool? (upcoming promo) L4-5
Hi everyone. I'm an Amazon Tier 1 associate planning to apply for an Interim Process Assistant position during Peak this November.
I've been taking on additional responsibilities whenever possible, such as supporting operations outside my normal role, and I'm trying to develop the habits that actually make someone successful, not just look busy.
For those of you who are AM, OM, Senior Ops, or experienced PAs:
•What behaviors make a Tier 1 associate stand out to you?
•What separates the associates who get selected from those who don't?
•What are the biggest mistakes ambitious associates make when trying to become a PA?
•If you could give one piece of advice to someone preparing over the next few months, what would it be?
I'd really appreciate hearing your perspective. Thanks in advance!
I see lots of contradictions when comparing sites.
Hoping someone with enough knowledge could answer.
Which offers the best work-life balance? Which provides the strongest career growth? Which opens the most doors outside of Amazon? If you could start over as an L5, which would you choose and why?
Thanks in advance.
I recently joined as an L4 beginning of June (AMZL Delivery Station). My original plan was to stay here for 1 year then move onto a different career after I get this experience. I graduated with a Management Information Systems BBA.
Do you guys think it’s worth it to get an I.T/Analyst government job with less pay but less stress?
My schedule when is going to be 3am-1:30 pm, Sun-Wed, what are some tips to adjust to working overnight?
What are the odds I can switch to a day shift soon?
If I was to switch to another job, how long should I stay before I do?
Also just any tips, I am a college hire so I am younger. I can tell it’s gonna be harder to manage people bc they dont “respect” me as much bc they are older
Thanks
Hey everyone!
I’m going to Amazon AD1 in about two weeks and was wondering what the dress code is like.
Is it mostly an office/classroom setting where you’re just sitting through presentations, or are you up walking around warehouses or doing activities where you’d want to wear sneakers?
I’m trying to figure out what to pack and don’t want to overpack or show up underdressed. Any tips on what you wore or what you’d recommend would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hello everyone! I was a college hire (majored in electrical and computer engineering) who started at Amazon on August 2025 and left Amazon for another job in June 2026! Please ask me some questions!!
So I was one of the new managers who lucked out on getting day shift when I first onboarded a few months ago. Well recently we just did manager rotation and of course like you guys said, I did eventually wind up going to nights (FHN to be exact) ngl those first 2 weeks were BRUTAL on my body. I had no energy whatsoever when I first came to this shift… fast forward a few weeks later and now it all of a sudden feels like I have more energy now than I did on day shift? I don’t know how that’s possible. Anyway I’m actually really starting to enjoy night shift. It feels like I have more freedom. Probably because my new peers are around my age and there isn’t Sr.leadership breathing down my back, which at first I was blinded and thought it was a good thing that I was on day shift so they could know what I was doing. Turns out I was way more stressed and didn’t even know it. Everything is waaaay more chill on this shift. Also everyone is way funnier on night shift for some reason which makes the time go by faster. Never realized how much I would actually like having half a day to do what I wanted before I have to go in as well.
Anyone have any tips for L4??? I got my interview on the 6th
Hi Everyone. My boyfriend got a job as an area manager after his graduation and just finished his AD1. I saw his training schedule for this week, and most of the days he has to work overnight. It seems like he has to do the same work as his associates for his training, so it will be physically exhausting too.
I am worried that this lifestyle may not be sustainable (health-wise) and may also shift our relationship dynamics a lot.
Thank you in advance!
