Snaps from my first trip to Stonehaven

Currently experimenting with my photoshop edits hence they all have differing vibes.

Hiii me and my husband are moving from London to Aberdeen this weekend - what do we need to know?

We're Arab, born and raised in London, moving to the Union Grove area.

We've never been to Scotland let alone Aberdeen so was wondering if anyone can share some insights into the city? Food hotspots? Scenic areas? Cultural must-sees? Day trip areas? Spots to avoid? Were not really night life people or drink so dont worry about pub/club recs.

We don't have a car - is it a bikeable city or are bus routes and Ubers better?

What are the folk of Aberdeen like? I can't wait to fall into the city and the people ❤️

Go Seed or Go Home - how to deal with a picky eater? Pls help

Hi hi. This is Sunday. I got him at 3 months old in December from a parrot store.

He's had an interesting journey. We got him home and after the zoomie phase passed, and after he'd gone through quarantine and introduced to his budgie brothers, I discovered he was TERRIFIED of hands. Like ill be reaching for my phone and he'll scurry to the other side of his cage. He was shy out of cage, didnt go near his brothers, wouldnt play with toys, and only ate specific seed from his tiel seed mix.

Up until 2 months ago, he was singing tunes and doing full on wing displays out of cage, preening with his brothers, and i learnt pieces of cardboard were more attractive than the toys id spent tonnes of money on.

Id been putting pellet in his seed mix from day 1, he knows its food as i saw him ONCE pick it up and spit it out but thats it. Hes never touched it. I tried to reduce his seed, to get him to eat pellet - and he just screamed for ages till i caved.

Veg? Nah. Ive had budgies eat veg out of cage by him but only once or twice did he brave going over and doing polite nibbles with them.

So 2 months ago we had to move all 3 into our bedroom, and got Sunday a bigger cage during the move. It reset his confidence. Hes been singing in his cage, but not out of cage. Im yet to see a full wing display, let alone performance. The move i wanted to do as it meant they get A LOT more out of cage time, and more time with me. Ive managed to make other forms of progress in terms of hes now eating his seed mix from my hand, and sometimes stepping up (tryna hand tame but its slow).

But idk what to do? His diet is mainly specific seeds from the seed mix and thats it. Ive tried putting veg on his cage floor, wedging different veg through the cage bars, and im nervous to reduce his seed mix hoping he'll get hungry and have pellet because i worry he'll just go on hunger strike.

His b.brothers were a bit like this to transitiom too - when i reduced their seed to they used to kick the food bowl across the cage in frustration, but they caved and their diet is wonderful. I just worry he simply wont eat.

Given his personality, any advice? Please?

The Gang Survive a Heatwave

Just 3 budgies glad that this evening is cooler, the heatwave is over, and they are no longer being followed around by a misting bottle.

Love on the left, Sunday centre stage, Hanfush on the right. Just 3 budgies.

Touching grass...

I know theyre not massively a visually cohesive collection, but i went with my mood and vibe per photo. Some i leant whimsicle 'in heaven' hazy, and some i leant 'nothing gold can stay'. The blue sky/houses one isnt on theme at all lol.

Also i tend to be heavy handed in graining... i really like an old film still vibe on my photos.

Anyway first time posting to this sub. Hi 😊🫶

First Family Portrait

Hanfush (back blue) has been trying to make friends with Sunday (Tiel) since we got him 5 months ago. Kept trying over and over, and Sunday would always growl when he got too close.

Hanfush won him over today ❤️

(Love, the front budgie goes wherever the millet is, loyalty to no burb)

I dont usually pay attention to horoscopes or that sorta thing, but ive been going through a horrible time for over a year now and turning to the stars for ... idk a sign? Advice? Something to give some sort of indication in answering am i on the right path, or am i digging myself into a hole i should never have started digging?
