Found this old handwritten Chinese manuscript while clearing out a study

I found this while sorting through an old study at home. It appears to be a handwritten Chinese manuscript, possibly from the Qing dynasty, although it has not been professionally dated.

I have no idea who copied it or how it ended up here. The vertical calligraphy, aged paper, and red punctuation marks are beautifully preserved.

When and why did white bread become associated with social status in Britain between the 17th and 19th centuries?

I am interested in how white bread came to be viewed as a higher-status food in Britain during the early modern and industrial periods.

Was its status mainly connected to the cost of producing finely milled flour, the difficulty of removing bran, or contemporary beliefs about health and refinement?

I would also like to understand whether this association changed as industrial milling made white flour more widely available during the 19th century.
