Bus driver refused to let teenager on
Hello
Saw a teenager trying to get on a bus recently. His contactless payment wasn’t working, but he showed he had money in his bank account and was clearly trying to pay.
The driver still refused to let him on, so I tapped my card.
Got me curious, I understand stopping people who deliberately don’t pay, but if someone clearly has the money and it’s just a one off payment issue, why not let them on?
Do drivers get penalised for letting someone travel without payment, or do they get some sort of commission on each fare or what is it ? Why are some drivers utter p***** - excuse my French.
