London bus displays rolling tube strike message

Is this a new thing? I certainly didn’t notice it with last month’s tube strikes

Bus diversions: lack of information

Just come back from Finsbury Parkrun on the 19 which (along with the 38) was terminating at the top of Rosebery Avenue because of demos in central London. Walked past two bus stops where groups of people (mainly tourists) were waiting. The displays were showing live times for the 19 and 38, as was Google Maps (although with a 'modified service' alert which you have to click on to read). The display on the 19 I was on showed it to be terminating at Rosebery Avenue, so the system knows this, so why can't TfL remove the live times from the stops which aren't served and transmit this info to Google Maps?

I stopped and explained this to the people waiting and suggested they walk to Farringdon and get the tube, but it's very poor in my opinion not to use the system in place to display up-to-date information. Does anyone have any idea why it doesn't happen?

iBus screen rant

The iBus screens that Go Ahead London and Transport UK uses on newer buses supposed to show the diagram containing the next few stops alongside the minutes to upcoming key stops. However, on route 22, none of the buses have fully working iBus screens with only key information like the upcoming stop and route number with destination being present. In addition to that, in around half of the buses, the iBus screens are fully blank with only time being present just like the one above. This is really becoming a bit annoying and I hope that these iBus screens get a fix soon so that everything is displayed properly in the vast majority of the buses including live minutes to stops and the red diagram with the next few stops. I also wonder if this is also a problem with other bus routes owned by Go Ahead London or Transport UK that uses new electric buses with this modern iBus screen?

Understanding diversions

Would anyone be able to help me understand what this diversion information for the N9 bus means? I’m planning on relying on it to get me to Heathrow in time for a 6am flight during the period of this diversion (😬), and I’m not sure I completely understand this description of its diversion. Would I be correct in assuming the N9 will still be running from Bush House to Heathrow as usual, just with some missed stops along the way?

Does anyone know what this bus model is called? I've seen it mostly around South London before. Metrobus old logo now under Go Ahead London

At nearly 24 miles long London's longest bus route is the SL7 (2023-present) Heathrow to West Croydon formerly X26 (2005-2023) and before that 726 (1977-2005) from Bromley South to Heathrow Central bus stn and before that it used to run from Dartford to Heathrow.

Go ahead trainee approved email

I got approved for a trainee and apprentice bus driver, and I have some questions:

They said that they will have someone call me. How long will they take to call back?

What is going to be in the pre-employment assessment day, and is it hard?

What to expect at Go Ahead?

Can I switch from full time to part-time halfway through?

And what can I expect?

What’s this in the new 433?

Was it meant to be some kind of game controller? And I don’t like the new 433 buses as they have 2 less seats than the old ones.

TfL’s problem with decking/not decking routes

What is TfL’s problem? I’m gonna be talking about routes in East here so yh

For some reason last year, the 499 got allocated double-deckers, going from using diesel E200 MMCs to dusty ahh E400 diesels that sound like they’re about to take off. Tbf that’s not even the point, they could be used on the 193, which I can never get on because of overcrowding on the scrawny E200s!

I am going to congratulate them for partially decking the daytime 108 and 165, because they rlly needed it. I’ve seen a 108 using an EH going through the Silvertown and over the Lower Lea Crossing to Leamouth to get back on its route through Poplar. 165 had the same problem as the 193: overcrowding.

Back to the negatives, the 325 needs to be given DELs or EEs because the SEEs are not coping in peak hours. Bearing in mind it serves the Upton Lane schools—St Bons, St Angelas, Stratford, etc.

If it weren’t for the 101 bridges on Manor Road, the 276 would have double deckers by now, maybe even BZL DDs. It is relatively frequent, but same as before: overcrowding. Maybe it could run via Plaistow, go down Upper Road, Hermit Road, and then Barking Road

Can anyone identify what BYD bus this is?

it didn't look typical BYD BD11 and it had these vertical lights like the Yutong Pelican. I know it was a BD11 since it had BYD on the blinds. Its owned by Arriva. This is the best I can remember about what the bus looked like. It was spotted on the 8th of May. I may have gotten the triple dot headlights wrong.
