Very subtle lag at certain moments on day old Macbook Air M5 16gb/512gb - Is this normal?

Hi all, I purchased a Macbook Air M5 16gb/512gb yesterday and so far it’s been great. I kind of messed up the setup process - I cancelled the Data transfer from my old Macbook and I somehow ended up erasing the new Macbook completely, so I had to reinstall the OS.

Anyways, I FINALLY booted up and setup my Macbook, and it's been great so far. There is one slight "problem" that I've noticed although I'm not sure if it's just me overthinking.

Whenever I drag a file or folder across my desktop theres a slight lag/stutter/framerate drop as I move the icon.

I experience the same thing when I click the "Restart..." option in the Apple drop down menu in the top left. The pop-up is very laggy as it loads/jumps out at the screen.

Is this normal, new Mac things? Or did I mess something up when I erased my Mac during the setup?

Am I just overthinking or should I be concerned? I do have a history of new device anxiety, but don't we all haha.

PS: I also tried toggling “Reduce Transparency” in the settings and it fixed the pop up lag the first time I clicked “Restart…” in the Menu immediately after. Every subsequent time I tried to restart with it still toggled on the pop up went back to being laggy.

Could this be a software issue rather than hardware?

Cheers!
