It happened to me: I did a Zoom interest interview and they turned out to be Primerica

I've been casually looking around after a pretty useless stint at AFLAC and then some time dealing with family issues. I answered a Facebook ad a couple days ago and ended up in an interest interview that was just half an hour long. I should have bailed out as soon as I even heard "Primerica," but it had been a while since I'd looked them up, so I decided to hear them out.

Summary: they're Primerica. Primary focus on recruiting. Dismal commission structure that is feeding a ton of money up the line... as though one was MARKETING at MULTI(PLE) LEVELS if y'know what I mean.

I'm still tempted to go in just to get the Series 6 & 7 licenses, but 1. I don't want to open my contact list to be pestered by the rando who is recruiting me. 2. personal finance and helping people with their financial situation is more interesting and inspiring. 3. I believe generally in this group and read a lot of thoughtful posts on r/Bogleheads so selling terrible annuities and super high-load mutual funds to people ain't gonna cut it.

Naturally, the lady who interviewed me is following up. It doesn't cost her anything, I'd be 1099, of course. Recommendations?

(our family situation (51M/51F, 1 adult child at home, 1 adult child headed to community college, 1 autistic adult child at home with disability application pending: 1m brokerage in mutual funds, 1m wife's 403b, me 80k Roth IRA, 25k money market. House possibly worth 600k, owe 340k at 3.25%. Paid off cars, no other loans or debt, credit cards always paid in full every month. Wife is psychiatrist who left a position a bit ago and is looking for work while managing a family member with dementia from across the country. I have been looking for work but as a decent generalist IT guy turned stay-at-home dad for over a decade, it's been frustrating.)

Where to buy holy Thai basil on the NW side?

Looking for actual confirmed sightings, not "Oh, any Asian supermarket will have it."

Struck out at 99 Ranch already.

Looking to make more authentic drunken noodles, thank you everyone.
