P.S. In terms of the domestic policies I am strongly in favor of social-democratic state akin to the watered-down Federal Republic of Germany. Although, to be honest, I view very positively the lack of regulations in some aspects of the US, such as culture and consumerism.

Although, by American standards of behavior, he did not show him an obvious disrespect, the newly appointed Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers obviously showed the Japanese Emperor that he doesn't consider him to be neither a "deity", nor a serious obstacle to the US-backed reforms of Japan.
