Just finished this piece. What kind of opal is this? I can’t take a good enough photo to show how magnificent the color is.

It came in a small cellophane packet and was covered in oil. Did the oil ruin the opal or was it just good tweaking of a photo?

What are these holes for????

I’d like to get into more intricate design work on my pieces. What do you think is used here to make these marks?

Looks too good to be true for the price. Thoughts? It’s $40 and 16x11.6x5 - Australian.

I didn’t cut this opal. When I got it, I noticed the white spot. I must have thought it was a glare in the original photo. Do you think it’s safe to try to buff it out?
