Started with one commission and now this is my 4th one I did.

This is my 4th attempt at a Sasquatch. I used burnt umber on hand and burned his hair layers

I have the privilege of having a wood carving shop near by and I get to go by there once in a while. Recently they had scraps for .25 cents s so I grabbed about 5 or 6 pcs. Here is a scrap I picked up and got to #wooddoodle on. As always comments are welcomed.

I’m was flipping through social media during a commercial. Came accross so #woodcarvers who #inspired to do a wooddoodle as I was not sure how it “wood” come out. Had fun carving this lady. #carving #whittling #wooddoodles #woodart #gnomes #ladygnome.

I was checking some of might art #inspirations and came across a #carver in #tictoc that was carving a #girl #gnome so I decided I would #wooddoodle a girl gnome. I had fun #carving or #whittling her. I just sealed it in Howard’s feed and wax.

This was an attempt at carving a Dwarf in a bigger block. Not sure on the size just cutting into some scrap wood. I am fortunate to live by a carving store so I decided to buy some over their scrap wood and carve this. What else should or do I need to add to it by the way? I ended up selling the bigger piece and still have him. #commission # wooddoodles #woodartist #woodart this guy and the other I post are both left over deck wood which is a pine. Pine is harder to carve because the grain being wide causing a little more splits/breaks. Hope you like it!

Just a. Few carving I have and am completing.

This a finally done #santa #carving I finally finished. It is made from #butternutwood. Which is like #basswood part of the #lindenwood family. Maybe a little more brittle but fun to carve and no painting really needed due to the beautiful grain. I used a #Razortip type pyrography pen to help accentuate the detail. Hope you like it?
