Hoy mga volleybiots, especially sa mga toxic garapatas at lumots na walang ginawa kung hindi pagsabungin at pag-awayan kung sino ang mas magaling between Belen and Canino.

Halatang wala kayong alam sa volleyball, international competition na ito as a Philippine team yet hindi matigil debate niyo about this, for what? School pride? Wala na dapat DLSU o NU dito, national team na ito, ONE team na sila, they are fighting for the country, and NOT for DLSU nor NU.

At kung fanaticism lang yung reason kunv bakit kayo nanood, clearly wala kayong idea how modern volleyball works, a starting line up, must have two outside hitter—OH1 and OH2.

OH1- must be an excellent offensive player with decent passing and floor defense.

OH2- must be an excellent defensive player with decent offensive prowess

If you know the players deeply and if you understand modern volleyball, you’ll definitely know which one suits the role. And clearly, it Canino (OH1) and Belen (OH2). Kaya manahimik na kayo sa debate na ito.

I would rather have Belen and Canino than having two Canino or Belen in the court, if naabutan niyo ang Jaja and Valdez starting OH ng NT noon, alam niyo kung gaano ka disaster ang passing and floor defense noon.

Im not saying that Canino is not great sa passing and FD as she has been improving with that aspects, but Belen is clearly the most excellent passer and sweeper sa country now, and im not saying that Belen cannot buhat the offensive line of the team, as she is also a consistent top scorer since 2025.

Kaya we have a great pool of Outside players din, we have other OH1 with Laure, Nitura, and Gandler na mga starter worthy rin or magic bunot if nagkalat si Angel and OH2 with Malaluan and Alinsug if si Belen naman ang wala sa wisyo.

Here we go again sa mga gradual rise ng young prospect ng future of PH Volleyball. But when talents and skills comes, kasabay dapat nito ang established system and support to sustain the potential of these young volleybelles.

I still remember during pre-pandemic, when the likes of Eya, Faith, Lacsina, Gagate, and Solomon started to make some noise sa local vb community, I can’t help but to feel so hopeful and kilig na magiging force sila once they compete as NT in SEA Tourneys, given their competitive height, yet most of these names, are already past their prime and playing very bad volleyball right now. I know it is not completely their fault why they are regressing, as this is more of a collective problem.

Now we have Belen, Canino, Nitura, Ytang, Provido, Lamina, and Jardio, who are all entering their prime yet super kaunti ng nagiging exposure sa competitive international tourneys as a consequences when ng conflicts sa schedule, politics, and injuries. Mind you most of these players are already 22-24 years old, yet wala pang AVC continental exposure and puro, thailand, indonesia, and vietnam lang ang nakakalaban, I know talunin muna consistenly yung mga aforementioned teams pero nakasasawa tbh.

And with FIVB U17 tournament is currently ongoing and our young players is showing some promising performances, I am still very hopeful para sa future ng Alas women’s.

In 2027, meron AVC U20 tourney that will serve as a qualification for the 2028 FIVB u21 tourney, and I hope we can also qualify, ang sarap kaya sa feeling mag-qualify sa isang tournament nang hindi dahil sa hosting rights.

i spent the rest of my day, looking for young players na qualify and promising to play for the 2028 FIVB U21, players who were born, on January 2008 and up, and I realize na competitive din pala mga height nila and possible na they can still grew taller for 1-2 inches given na 15-17 years old lang itong mga batang ‘to.

Idk ya!! but this was a realistic result for Alas considering na first tournament nila to after almost a year, while the other three teams are tuloy-tuloy yung competitive participation. Silver lining nalang din na may mga crucial missing pieces sa roster. But here is my unfiltered commentary sa individual performance ng Alas player this leg.

Belen- BEST PLAYER THIS LEG. With the absence of Canino and wala sa wisyo na Egay, super appreciated yung pag step up offensively ni Bella, 2 time consecutive best scorer kahit main function ni bella sa team is receiving and digging as an OH2, kaya give ko sa kanya yung off game against INDO, kasi i know
pagoda si ate. Hoping for the best OH award for bella.

Laure- SLEYA. Good performance against veitnam and thailand, maasahan talaga pag clutch moments basta nasa wisyo si mother, tumaas din yung talon niya and more barog na palo this tournament compare last year, off lang kanina against INDO, but i commend the improvement ni mother, tho blockova and ma-error pa rin.

Alinsug- Excellent service and defense specialist, need talaga natin ng atleast 1 defensive OH like vangie every tournament, ganda ng sub niya sa viet. If no malaluan, we should definitely bring her sa Asian games.

Gandler- Good sub against Viet, yun lang +++ face card HAHAHAHA ewan bat di siya naglaro the next games, sana si Marsh nalang pala niline-up.

MB:
Ytang- shortest but nag-lisang threat ng alas sa gitna, pag binigay sa kanya bola alam mong babarugin, kaya confident ako na di malalamangan ng score pag siya yung nasa gitna, may mga attack error lang, like straight to the net spike, pero i guess chemistry problem na yon. One good thing about ytang din is super nakakaboost ng energy ng team. Pag ito di pa starter next leg ewan ko na lang, to be brutally honest siya lang dapat matira sa MB roster natin for the next leg.

Sharma- Ewan, mag tiktok nalang tayo beh. Sharma truther ako pero face card lang ambag this leg, never na rin talaga naging threat offensively, wala rin block touches, okay sana if haplos spike pero great blocker like Majoy, pero wala talaga. Everytime na ibibigay kay fifi yung bola alam mong free ball na e.

Gagate- Collab nalang kayo ni Fifi lol. Sayang ang height, parang wala manlang killblock all throughout the tournament, dami rin service error. Ewan, sana mag-improve ka sa Japan, or kahit bumalik lang yung season 85 thea, kung gusto mo mag stay sa alas.

Palomata- May mga bright moments, but hindi talaga giving and walang ring intimidating factor considering the towering height, daming chace to kill a set pero wala, nagiging free ball lang, but i have to commend the improvement sa attacking power.
S:
De Guzman- Probably the worst performance ni Jia since Alas was formed. Daming batong fuke set all throughout this leg and hindi rin ramdam yung leadership presence. If hindi makabalik ang old setting ni Jia, masakit as a Jia fan, pero parang hindi siya makakapasok sa final 14 for WCH 2029.

Alba- Promising performance. Di ko gets why some peeps say na di deserve ni alba ang spot niya sa alas, wherein fact very reliable siya since last year. masipag din mag dig and habol ng bola +++ may leadership and very vocal every time out. Compare to Jia, mas maganda connection niya sa lahat ng spikers, room for improvement lang is marami siyang questionable set location pag transition play lalo na sa open, nonetheless, a good setter for the team. ALBA IS SILVER INDEED.

OP:
Solomon- BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENT. Idk if takot ba sa injury or mapili lang sa set, pero super tamad ni egay since last year. A lot of dropball sa zone 1 yung nag coconvert into point ng opponent everytime she's there. Dami rin maayos na set na tinatapik lang. One thing abt egay rin is hindi maasahan pag crucial, its either block or error yung attack niya, daming crucial sets and matches na nangyari yon, including yung bronze medal last sea games. Commendable pa rin blocking niya tho, pero super syomad mo egay 😭gumising ka next leg, hindi pwedeng mag OP si Angel sa Asian Games kung ganyan ka.

Santos- Good sub, but not for longterm investment.

Libero:
Jazareno- Decent performance. Tho bumaba laro niya compare sa SeaVLeague last year.

Catindig- mag baby sit ka nalang ng baby ni justine next leg and sa mag next tournaments, give way na sa mga bata at mas capable.

WHAT A DISASTER!!!

sobrang sayang ng AVC cup this year kasi super laki ng chance maka-gold if only the OG alas players played for this tournament.

and for christ’s sake tumigil na yung mga veterans na hindi naman na talaga fit to represent the flag at lagi nalang may never ending statement na ‘para sa bayan’ at ‘marami pa kaming matutunan’.

okay sana if mga below 23 pa kayo, pero girl you are nearing 40.

at this point hindi na sapat ang puso lang, we want results na obviously hindi niyo kaya ibigay. magkusa na kayo sa susunod and let the OG alas to continue what they have started.

kung hindi lang sana nagpakatuta sa mga matatandang hukluban sana tahimik buhay niyo ngayon, pero wala e, you all choose to enable a system na pati rin naman kayo nabiktima nung prime years niyo.

I think maganda ang magiging transition from Belen-Canino to Rayco-Almendralejo era if ever umaayos talaga ang federation natin.

Anim pa lang to na high prospects na puwede na isama sa national team pool for future purposes at possible na maging Alas core post 2029 world champs.

Do you guys know any other young players na U-20 na pwede isabak sa Alas’ senior national team?

If you choose to accept it, then u just proved that you’re really an enabler of an abusive and corrupt system.
Please consider what Jia and the whole Alas would feel if you choose to be an enabler of the evil and selfish old guys in the PNVF.

What we hope you to do is to voice out for the players that once became your teammates sa national team, fans, and to those players who look up to you and are dreaming to play for the country.

As the “face of PH Volleyball,” as they claimed you are, and as the most followed Pinay VB player, super frustrating na ni minsan walang narinig sa’yo na anything to call out the problematic actions ng PNVF.

This is definitely the perfect timing to use your influence, AV, and not to be a vehicle of tolerance sa basurang pamamahala nila Liao at Palou.

Your influence is much much bigger than any volleyball player that we have in the country right now.

So please do better, Alyssa!

And just like that, the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team is back to square one again. After a series of historic medal wins from SEA tournaments to the whole Asian tourneys, the team now faces a total revamp ahead of the upcoming AVC Nations Cup 2026, which will be held on home soil, due to the PNVF’s incompetent leadership and lack of proper vision and support to the team.

Here are just some of the scandal that the PNVF are currently facing:

The “Alas Draft” Scandal: The PNVF tried to enforce a new rule that would prevent aspiring professional players from joining the pro league (PVL) in exchange for being part of the national squad for two years. This would definitely hinder the progress and growth of players outside the national team.

Core team declined to play: The entire Philippine team from the past two years, which includes team captain Jia De Guzman, refused to play for the national team following her vocal concerns about the issues that the PNVF must address to support the welfare and growth of national team players and the pro league.

Former head coach suing the PNVF: Jorge de Brito, the former head coach of the team, is suing the PNVF over unpaid salary and bonuses.

As a national team supporter since the Amihan to Asian Games 2018 team to Alas Pilipinas, sobrang nakahihinayang, sobrang nakaiiyak at sobrang nakagalit!

And now players and fans ang nag-suffer sa mga basurang desisyon niyo na inuuna ang personal interest niyong mga baboy kayo.

I can't imagine the bashing na puwedeng ma-receive ng mga players na maglalaro this AVC dahil for sure hindi mapapantayan or mahihigitan yung mga achievements na pinaghirapan ng Alas for the past two tourneys.

Sobrang nakakalungkot din isipin na baka hindi na bumalik or makabalik sila Jia and other players sa Alas dahil sa kagagahan ng PNVF. Sayang yung chemistry at yung exposure na binuo nila

As a very frustrated supporter, wala ba tayo pwedeng gawin para makaabot ito sa FIVB para ma-sanctionan yung mga hukluban sa taas? wala na rin kasing pag-asa sa sports committee natin.

And to all players, especially those who have big followings and reach, please use your platform wisely! hindi enough na si Jia lang ang vocal.

To the likes of Alyssa Valdez, Aby Maraño and Dawn Catindig, please use your reach. Don't let the current generation experience the same things that you all face during your time sa national team that waste your potential!
