Lee Ranaldo: "It was really interesting to work with Oneohtrix Point Never, he was having some tracks kind of… AI-generated. He would put small bits of music into the computer, and then ask the AI to expand on it or generate longer pieces from it"

Josh Conway (The Marias) cancels tour: "Rather than forcing a version of the show that doesn't feel fully realized, I want to take some time to rethink how to bring the music to life on tour in a way that feels right"

Favourite/funniest needle drop?

I was just listening to the Ranch episode and laughed out loud when they segued from ranch to bleach to playing "About a Girl" off Nirvana's Bleach.

What are some of your favourite/funniest needle drops? Also, have they ever discussed who and when decides which song to play?

[PC][2000s] Indie choice-based "game" with comic-style stills, covered briefly in UK PC Gamer — crime/romance story, no gameplay besides dialogue choices

Platform(s): PC (downloaded or installed from disc — not a browser/Flash game)

Genre: Choose-your-own-adventure / interactive fiction. No gameplay beyond picking dialogue options and similar choices — no puzzles, action, or exploration.

Estimated year of release: Sometime in the 2000s — not sure exactly when, but I read about it in PC Gamer UK (the magazine) in that decade.

Graphics/art style: Text combined with still, comic-book-style illustrations. Not animated, not live action, not typical anime-style visual novel art as far as I recall. I remember that it may have been mostly yellow tint, not sure about this.

Notable characters: Don't remember any names.

Notable gameplay mechanics: None beyond dialogue/choice selection — it was purely a branching-choice story.

Other details:

Single, complete game, not episodic. Modern-day setting. Serious/dramatic tone, not comedic. Story involved both crime and romance elements. I saw it covered as a small mention/news item in PC Gamer UK rather than a full review, so it was likely a minor indie release rather than a big one.

I don't remember the title or developer, just the format and subject matter. Any help identifying it would be hugely appreciated!
