I feel so lied to about andromeda and ethiopia in mythology.

I was always told by people that Ethiopians in greek mythology just mean anyone in Africa and that andromeda was always a white woman in texts and that the royal family are descended from white argives.

But now im actually reading mythology and its like??? Every classical playwright describes this lineage starting from epaphus as dark and black and this includes the women like in aschylus. Why would andromeda be white 😕 im really struggling to see it theres very little evidence for it. Ovid describes her as dark skin explicitly and he seems to be the most popular storyteller of her tale specifically in history. I did see some later albino versions way after him I guess. Her being placed in joppa also seems way rarer than people lead me to believe It feels mostly popularized by wrath of the titans.

Aw great apperently most ancient greek pottery are scenes depicting actors does that mean that ancient greeks didnt wear blackface but French people in 2020 did in their renditions of the plays?
