What's up with this Aston Martin?

It has several "Prototype Vehicle" stickers on it. It's missing all of the Aston Martin badges but the indents are there. It's a 23 plate so not a brand new car. I've seen it a few times in my street now, so I think the guy opposite has bought it but I haven't seen him to ask. Can people buy prototype cars? Just very curious!

Recently flew through its MOT at 90k without a single advisory. A lot more luggage space than you might think. 35 mpg on the motorway (we'll ignore the 11 mpg it does around town..). Ummed and ahhed about this purchase for a solid month before I went for it, but haven't regretted it once. Could not recommend more!
