3D printer for classic car parts?

Hi guys, my dad has a classic car he's restoring, he's trying to find these tiny plastic clips that go in the door but we can't find any. Because they're so small I was wondering if anyone knows if I can get them 3D printed anywhere? We have a couple clips spare to use as a pattern.

Post flair

I added some post flair options this week with the aim of helping people find useful content easier.

At the moment we have:
Life in Cambridge
Food in Cambridge
Events in Cambridge
Visiting Cambridge

Ideally it would be good to add a few more so we can have all posts categorised.
What else should be added?

Does anyone recognise this man

Hello, I’m hoping to find any information on this man. I found a bunch of family film near mill road around Christmas time last year and hoping to see if anyone has any leads on where I could get in touch

Single point of contact for rowing coaches?

Is there a single point of contact for rowing coaches in Cambridge? A society or similar? I ask as I want to see if they can remind coaches there are other users of the path alongside the Cam, especially at the start of the Chisholm trail where they regularly stop and chat with the boat crews.
I nearly got taken out by one who unexpectedly started cycling from a standstill from the middle of the path veering wildly across to the left this morning. Clearly unaware of anything around him other than the rowers he had been speaking to. He has every right to be there but a gentle nudge to pay more attention would be appreciated.

Reporting an incident between two cars

This morning I witnessed an incident involving a moving car colliding with a parked car. I managed to take down the registration numbers for both vehicles and took a photo of the aftermath.

What would be the best way to report this?

I looked online at reporting it to the police, but it appears they require video evidence, which I don’t have.

M11 speed limits in place until Sep 2027

The temporary M11 speed limits around Cambridge are driving me crazy. A lot of drivers ignore them, creating a dangerous 30mph differential between the lanes.

I hunted around for more info and found this depressing read: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/5083343. The speed limits are for embankment works lasting 17 months.

Sharing this so we can all collectively brace ourselves for another year of M11/A14 related misery.

On the plus side it’s nearly summer.

To move or not to move

Hey Reddit, need some opinions.

Currently paying £1700/month in Cambridge with all bills included.

Found another newer flat for £1200/month excluding bills. Council tax band A (£100/month for single occupant), electric water heating, and heating is via 2 oil-filled electric radiators.

Would this still likely end up meaningfully cheaper overall, or can electric heating realistically wipe out most of the savings in the UK? Relatively new to the UK and so far my rent included all bills.

Screen time in Cambridge schools

My child will start Reception next year. I’ve heard that many schools now use tablets and one-to-one devices quite heavily, and I’m trying to understand what the reality is like in Cambridge state schools.
For parents with experience of local primary or secondary schools:
How much screen time do children actually have?
Are books still mainly paper-based?
Is homework mostly online or written in exercise books?
Is it possible to find schools with more limited device use, I don’t like the idea that there’s 1-1 device policy in many schools these days?
Personally, I would prefer a more traditional approach with less reliance on screens, so I’d really appreciate hearing people’s experiences.

Vandals target city traffic light detector units

How have they not been caught?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0l29jg3lllo

About 200 traffic light detector units have been vandalised across Cambridgeshire since the May bank holiday weekend, with most incidents concentrated in Cambridge city, a council has said.

Detector units identify vehicles and pedestrians waiting at junctions, allowing traffic lights to respond to real‑time demand.

Cambridgeshire County Council said the units had been "deliberately vandalised through the cutting of their cables".

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed it was investigating the incidents.

The council said the equipment played "a vital role in keeping traffic moving safely and efficiently", as when damaged, "traffic lights revert to a fixed‑time setting, leading to increased congestion and delays for everyone".
Detector units at about 50 locations had been targeted, the majority of which were in Cambridge, on Cherry Hinton Road, Perne Road, Mill Road, Milton Road, Coldham's Lane and others in Fen Ditton and Horningsea.

A crossing outside Park Primary School in Histon, which used sensors to allow large groups of children to cross safely, was also targeted.
