My dad drove Chevys until 1987

My Grandpa was a farmer in Nebraska who always drove GM. When he bought his first Toyota in 1984 (or '85 - red one) My dad said he was appalled, and asked him "what the hell has he done"?? Then the two of them took a 6000 mile road trip (there and back) to the Northwest Territories of Canada on a hunting trip. They drove over all kinds of crazy terrain and fucked up graded roads, even smashing into a huge rock mixed in with the bench of a gravel road. When that happend my grandpa asked my dad "you see any oil draining out back there?" "No" , he replied. "We're going to keep going" they got it checked out somewhere in Canada at a Toyota shop when they were out of the sticks. The shop filled up the differential fluid, and said you'll be fine until you get back to NE. They were, and whatever was leaking was fixed when they got back. That trip convinced my dad to buy his first Toyota in 1987. He drove it until it started to rust out and traded it for a '97 SR5 5 Speed. With the exception of a 2nd gen, he's bought every gen of 4Runner since. This was instilled in me, and I've only every had 4Runners myself. Thought it was a cool story with some old photos to share.

First time in Taos was incredible.

Thank you for an amazing first time in Taos, Taos! My wife, our dog Cinnamon Girl and I drove down from Denver on Friday and stayed at Hotel Luna Mystica. We attended shows Friday and Saturday night at The Mothership, and filled our time with awesome restaurants, a dip in the Rio below the Dunn bridge, and just really enjoyed the friendly vibes, great food and resturant service and the beautiful landscape. Our close was driving across the Rio Gorge, purchasing some jewelry from a local at her art tent, checking out the Earth ships, and a super cool new hat for my wife from The Hat Store. For years I'd heard of what a special place this is, and our time there greatly exceeded whatever expectations I thought I might have. With so much still to explore and such a short drive, we will be back soon!

If you are out at Chatfield this weekend....

Keep your eyes out for this poor Cormorant. My wife and I were paddle boarding yesterday when this guy flew over us with this massive luer and line glistening in the sun hanging from his mouth. As we were paddling back to the car we found him resting on a log. He let us get close to him as we were going to try to help him but then he flew away. Spotted on the south east part of the lake by the bridge. I waved down a CPW officer and made the report, and he said he was going to look for him. Figured if anyone else sees him/her let an officer know.

Officially joined the club

I finally picked up the 2014 TW200 with 50 miles on it from my Toyota shop owner in Denver. It's like... brand new! 🤗 Thanks for all the advice and help offered prior to me picking it up. Im sure someone here knows, but is this rear rack from the factory?

Here are some pictures of the 2014 TW I just made an offer on. It's all original, with 48 miles. I offered $3500. We'll see what the owner says.
