I've been into classics for a long time, but always ignored the history side of things, and recently decided to read through Plutarch's Lives. Nobody told me that the liberty-loving republicans were conservative aristocrats who hated the poor and the fascist dictators were basically Bernie bros. What gives?
It's been a minute, but I keep thinking back to the episode with the failed musician who dabbled in witchcraft and drugs. Particularly when he starts talking about mystic signs and Sam reacts almost angrily at this and is pretty defensive about his spirituality when questioned about his own journey. I don't know, personally, having that sort of reaction seems like something someone does who has not even begun their spiritual journey.
I've always been a of the boys from day one, but honestly, after this week, I don't know if I can even watch Hatewatch or Goofcon anymore. I thought Ben was like a comedy god and I was always there laughing, but now I see myself for the fool I was and now I can't even watch Devan or Joey do their things without seeing them for the hacks they are, friends of Ben and all. There's not a thing they could do where I wouldn't hear the snivelling, snide voice of Ben mean girl laughing at what actually seems like a pretty chill dude. What am I supposed to do now bros? Where do we go from here?
