Chronic bad breath since childhood, negative allergy tests, CT sinusitis, 30+ sneezes/day recently started. Could this all be connected?

Hi everyone,

I’m 31 and have had chronic bad breath since childhood. Over the years I’ve tried almost everything, but recently my nasal symptoms have become much worse and I’m wondering if everything is connected.

My symptoms:
Chronic bad breath since childhood.
Recurrent tonsil stones (sometimes hidden and come out when coughing or irrigating).
Persistent white-coated tongue.
Constant post-nasal drip (clear, white, or thin sticky mucus).
Sneezing fits of 10+ sneezes at a time, over 30 sneezes a day recently started this.
Runny nose after sneezing.
Sometimes itchy nose and itchy eyes.
Mouth breathing, especially while sleeping.
Ear popping/crackling/grinding, and I feel like my hearing has become slightly muffled.

Tests and ENT findings:

CT scan shows mild sinus
ENT diagnosed a deviated nasal septum (DNS) and recommended septoplasty.
Total IgE was normal (35 kIU/L).
Blood allergy tests for grass mix and house dust mix were negative (Class 0).
I know these blood tests don’t completely rule out allergies, but they make me wonder whether this could be non-allergic rhinitis, local allergic rhinitis, or something else.
I’ve also tested negative for H. pylori and SIBO.

For my bad breath I’ve tried:
Tongue scraping/gel.
SmartMouth, TheraBreath and other mouthwashes.
Oral probiotics.
Water flosser for tonsils.
Saline nasal rinses.
Diet changes (stopped dairy and sugar).

Despite all of this, the bad breath persists.
Has anyone had a similar combination of:
Chronic bad breath.
Post-nasal drip.
Tonsil stones.
Frequent sneezing despite negative allergy tests.
Ear crackling/Eustachian tube symptoms.
If you eventually got a diagnosis, what was it? Did septoplasty, tonsillectomy, or treatment for rhinitis actually improve your bad breath and post-nasal drip?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through something similar

Regretting my decision after a new job changed its hybrid policy. WWYD

I recently joined a new underwriting role in Melbourne. During the interview process, my understanding was that the expectation was 2 days in the office per week, which was one of the main reasons I accepted the offer.
After I started, I was told the team now needs to be in the office 3 days a week. I understand policies can change, but it’s frustrating because it wasn’t what I expected. To make it more confusing, some other teams in the same company only come in 1–2 days.
The reason this is bothering me even more is that I turned down an offer from another insurer to accept this role. At the time, I thought I was making the right decision, but now I’m wondering if I made a mistake.
The role itself is okay, but the extra commute and change in expectations have really affected how I feel about it.
I’m curious:
Has anyone had a similar experience where the hybrid arrangement changed after joining?
Would you raise it with your manager first or quietly start looking for another job?
If you decided to leave, how long did you stay before moving on

Thanks

Need advise - Visited ENT

I’ve had bad breath since childhood and have been investigating the cause for years. After trying everything — tongue cleaning, chlorhexidine, probiotics, nasal rinses, gut treatment — I finally got an ENT appointment today.
The ENT scoped my nose with a camera and found mucus at the back of my nose. He suspects allergic rhinitis as the primary cause. He has ordered a RAST allergy panel blood test to identify specific allergens.
He recommended septoplasty and turbinectomy to fix the structural nasal issues causing blockage and mucus buildup. If that doesn’t fully resolve the bad breath, tonsillectomy would be the next step.
His theory is that chronic mucus from allergic rhinitis is dripping down the throat continuously, feeding bacteria in the tonsil crypts, causing tonsil stones and bad breath. Also reflux could be contributing.
I stopped my nasal rinse and momentazone nasal spray for a few days and my breath immediately got significantly worse (reactions more and lick test was oh my god. ) — which seems to confirm that nasal mucus is a major contributing factor.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with allergic rhinitis causing bad breath? Did treating the allergy or having nasal surgery help?
Its gonna be a bit expensive. Is there any other medication available for me to try for few weeks?
Please please please give your insights on this
