Is anyone having trouble sleeping at night?

No, seriously. And I’m not talking about the constant roller coaster double digit moves on the daily either. FWIW I’m bullish on NBIS for the business model, for the professional leadership, and many other reasons. I’m talking about the ethical position supporting society’s collective race to the bottom, and for the known and perhaps unknown environmental consequences these massive data centers pose. My small town recently had an uproar similar to what we’ve heard from Vineland, New Jersey. Overwhelming opposition to new construction in an otherwise very industry friendly community. Unlike Vineland, this one got shot down by higher ups, and we’re hearing it from all the sides in the news. It’s the only issue of its magnitude that doesn’t seem entirely partisan in completely refuting DC buildout and yet everyone on here to make a buck can only talk about how great the company is. So what, if it exists, is the actual ethical case for society to invest trillions of dollars into the expansion of this technology and more pointedly, data center buildout? How do y’all sleep at night in supporting this company while knowing the irrefutable harm it will cause to our environment and ultimately human life?

How to DCA in VOO with a brokerage that doesn’t allow partial share purchasing?

I’m on the “VOO and chill” agenda for about 80% of my portfolio. My budget for taxable brokerage is $200/month. The deposits are automatic and consistent, however the money just sits in my account until I’ve accrued enough to buy a single share of VOO (currently priced over $700 this morning). What’s frustrating is that my brokerage account does not allow partial share purchasing like Schwab or some others. It feels a lot like timing the market because when I get enough to finally buy another share I do hem and haw, look at trends and buy the dips. Is there a way to get around this without moving my money into a different brokerage account? Or should I look at a cheaper etf that could get me shares with my low recurring investment?

State of the FS after midterms?

I know there are a lot of hopes and dreams out there about the agency reversing course on the reorg and congress flipping the script on moving fire out of the agency. If the fire piece doesn’t happen before midterms I could see the new majority congressional review panel actually reading the reports and making it less politically motivated of a decision, ultimately retaining fire within the agency. However on reorg I think it’s definitely gonna happen in some form. I think the regional offices will close and relo to the service hubs. The Timber mandate is likely staying at least through this admin given how long it takes to change anything policy wise. I hope I am wrong!
