Would you play a competitive online game inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics?

I've been a huge fan of Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre and other tactical RPGs for years.
Recently I've been considering building a game inspired by that style of combat, but focused on online competition rather than a traditional single-player campaign.

The idea would be something like:

- FFT-style grid battles
- 4-6 unit squads
- class-based gameplay and MOBA roster
- terrain and positioning advantages
- 20-25 minute matches
- ranked matchmaking

Before investing a serious amount of time into prototyping it, I'd love to understand whether players actually want something like this.
For those of you who enjoy tactical RPGs:

  1. Would you play a game like this regularly?

  2. What would stop you from playing it?

  3. Would you prefer PvP, co-op, or a traditional single-player experience?

  4. What game comes closest to your ideal tactical RPG?

I'm trying to figure out whether there's genuine interest or if tactical RPG fans mostly prefer single-player experiences.
