If the Red Dust appears in the New World, and Godzilla (Singular Point) begins to evolve. How far can Nazarick handle the stages of the Ashihara Catastrophe?
I was rewatching Godzilla Singular Point and reading its novel, then regarding the world of Overlord, I thought this would be a really fascinating crossover scenario, given how both verses deal with world-altering phenomena, reality manipulation, and unique magical/scientific laws.
Let’s say the Red Dust (the reality-altering Archetype molecule from SP) starts appearing in the oceans of the New World. Ainz sends out scouts to investigate. As time goes on, a Singular Point anchors itself to the world and begins to evolve. How would Nazarick fare against each stage of this invasion?
Stage 1: Godzilla Aquatilis & Amphibia
These are the early aquatic and amphibious forms. They are relatively small (about 10-30 meters) and mostly rely on physical attacks and freezing blood/ice vapor. I imagine the Pleiades or someone like Cocytus could probably handle this stage pretty easily, right? How would you write this encounter?
Stage 2: Godzilla Terrestris
He gets much bigger, grows armored skin, regenerates rapidly, and can create explosive rings of blood. At this point, the Red Dust is starting to spread across the New World, altering the local flora and fauna and mutating them. Would Ainz need to send a Floor Guardian like Demiurge or Shalltear to safely dispose of him?
Stage 3: Godzilla Ultima (The Avatar)
Now he is 100 meters tall. His molecular atomic breath can slice through cities, and his sheer physical presence is dense enough to passively warp local space-time. If Ainz steps in personally, how does Ultima’s atomic breath interact with Ainz’s high-tier defensive magic? Would a combination of Time Stop and True Death, or The Goal of All Life is Death work on a creature whose biology actively defies the standard physics of the universe?
Stage 4: The Omega Point (The Ashihara Catastrophe)
This is where the lore gets crazy. In the novelization, Godzilla’s final physical evolution is the Omega Point. At this stage, he tears open the Singular Point entirely. He begins rewriting the mathematical laws of the universe, forcing space and time to collapse in on themselves in a reality-ending event known as the Ashihara Catastrophe.
If the universe's physics are literally being deleted and rewritten, could Ainz use a World Item like Ouroboros or Five Elements Overcoming to rewrite the laws of the New World back to normal and cancel out the Omega Point's reality-warping? Or would the New World be structurally doomed at this stage?
Stage 5: "IT" (The True Form)
Here is my biggest question regarding the absolute limits of YGGDRASIL magic. The SP novelization reveals that Godzilla isn't actually a monster; the physical body is just a 3D shadow/avatar of an incomprehensible, higher-dimensional cosmic entity known simply as "IT". "IT" exists completely outside of space and time, viewing universes the way we view dreams or fiction, and consumes entire dimensions to expand its domain. The physical Godzilla is just the "trunk" it uses to observe our plane of existence.
Even if Ainz magically destroys the Omega Point avatar, "IT" still exists in a higher dimension, waiting to project a new avatar or consume the timeline. Does Nazarick possess any World Items (perhaps Longinus?) with enough absolute authority to reach into a higher dimension and erase a cosmic, eldritch entity? Or does YGGDRASIL magic have a hard cap that restricts it to the 3D/4D universe they reside in?
Would love to hear your thoughts on how Ainz and Demiurge would strategize around an entity like this!
