Brutal heat

This was terrible!!!!!! 100 degree heat training is the worst thing ever. I miss kettlebells in the snow. No excuses still got it done.

Double 18kg Long Cycle

Today was an off day but I had no real movement in work and I had lots of pent up energy so I decided to do some long cycle. 5’x 2 for 92 reps.

Double 20kg Jerk 6’ x 2

I was supposed to do 3 sets of 6’ at sub max pace but after the 2nd set I was spent. I’d normally be upset if I didn’t hit the prescribed work but with my knee, the heat and work I gave it all I had and that’s all I can ask for from myself.

8’ Biathlon Test Day

Biathlon 8’ test sets today. I survived both sets in the rain and with a bum knee! Today wasn’t about max reps it was about lasting the clock and getting comfortable with longer sets. I’m proud I was able to do this with my knee injury. Confidence is the biggest thing I’m lacking in this sport so these sets help a lot.

Snatch and Strict Press

Snatch day 240 reps total followed by double 32 strict press. 4 sets overall from 25 reps followed by double 32 Romanian deads. Pretty solid day.

Biathlon Day Double 20’s

Biathlon day. Still getting the feel for working around this torn meniscus/quad issue. Snatches are no issue at all but I altered my jerk stance and it has relieved so much pressure on my knees. Going wider is the way to go from here on out. It allows me to still get quality work in and not be in pain.

Biathlon Day

My knee has been feeling better during my sessions so I wanted to give it a little test run on jerks today. I did 2 2 minute sets and when I went wider it felt great. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit nervous but I made it through the session. Also then longer I warm up the better it feels.

First time ever trying double pent

I was feeling good today but I wanted to try something a little different so I gave double pent a try. I took it easy and did all the moves with the 18’s for 1:30 each with 1:30 rest between each set. This was super fun!!!!

28kg Snatches and Presses

Since I can do jerks at the moment I’ve switched my focus to Snatch and pressing. Today I did 2’ x 4 with the 28kg for snatch for 148 reps and 3x12 double 28’s strict press and hit 20 reps on my last set.

3rd rep in to this set and I felt a pop on the bump portion of the jerk. There goes all my hopes and aspirations for the year. I’m so god damned frustrated but I’ll get through this.

10’ Jerk Set 6’ Snatch

10’ set with the double 20’s! This is a big deal for me! The goal wasn’t max reps it was just to finish the time and I did just that. Thanks to my coach Jordan for programming this into my training at the beginning of a new block and pushing me out of my comfort zone. I had to do 8 rpm and I averaged 9 and hit 12 in my last minute. The only thing that sucked today was the heat. God I miss winter

5-28-26 Easy training day

Easy training day to finish off this block. Next week I start a new strength endurance block and prepping for Riddlestruck Open Comp in August,Twin Citiies in September followed by the All American Kettlebell Open in October.

5-22-26

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone.Today was awesome. This is the best that 24kg snatch has ever felt! I’m finally getting my timing right and my hands aren’t getting roughed up. Hit 60 reps in 3’ of work with the 24 and then did 4’ of work with the 20 and got 86 reps. Also tried double 24kg jerks for the first time in forever and they felt great too! Finally ended the sport part of the session with double 18kg LC did 3 rounds of 1’30” for 45 reps.
Good luck to everyone this weekend in Syracuse for the IKMF worlds!

Snatch/Jerk/GPP 5-18-26

New PR for snatch for me. Everything felt great and I hit 197 reps in 8’ total! Also tried jerk for the first time since hurting my knee and I was able to do 122 reps in 8’ total and I can actually hear my feet stomping which is a great sign for me!

My coach has me slowly working my way back to long cycle and jerk. I think next week or the week after it will be a full regular sport session. I must say I am enjoying this though since pressing is my easiest move.
