Terminated today…?
going to keep this short. went to work (1st shift), GM is there and she’s nice and normal as usual. 2 hours near the end of my shift i go on dishes and i’m getting rid of that pile up, and 10 minutes before shift ends i use the bathroom. come back, and i head to the back of the store to grab supplies or whatever i forgot, and my coworker said that she wants to see me in the office. i think nothing of it, thought it was some minor thing abt how id put extra gummies on drinks, or put leftovers in blender in a different cup to hand to the customers (if they’ve ordered protein add ons esp). i go in and she and the AGM (or GM from the store up the road) are in, and i guess she was there as a witness or whatever like they do. the GM tells me that i’ve been coming to work under the influence (high on weed), and i’ve been selling / offering drugs. i’ve never smoked on shift or before a shift and i told her to drug test me since i don’t smoke. she said she had an investigation going, which there’s no proof of, just word of mouth. all of this transpired in break room. i try defending myself and she’s not listening and said 2 separate people who weren’t in the same room told her, and if it was just one she would’ve gave me a final warning but she just fired me. a few weeks prior she said she adored me too, and i was on schedule for following weeks. she said it was the two new hires (which are both women and i am okay with them), and they also just got here a few days ago as well. i told them what she said as i was back in the break room ready to leave and they said that she questioned them but they had no idea, considering they were brand new. one of them even gave me a hug as i cried. but she said it was a new hire + one gentleman. i also told her that one of the TS (who’s 20) was having his cart out charging in the break room and he hit it in front of me but i doubt she’s going to do anything when multiple ppl saw this as well.
i called corporate like 40 mins after and they said they’ll escalate it and she seemed disturbed and shocked (the lady on the line) because i said i just finished a shift and got fired because the manager said i’m selling drugs and high at work. i don’t understand how this is legal, when this has happened on 1st and 2nd shift (the only 2 shifts she works). surely she would’ve seen it or noticed it, and she just just said not too long ago she adored me. how long could this have been going on for? nothing transpired today at all. she has 0 proof and it’s just word of mouth. i was scheduled weeks in advanced too and she just fires me like this? i don’t even know what to do but i’m humiliated like why would i sell drugs at work? if i sold why would i be working at a shitty place who leaves me to drown with incompetent people.
has anything similar happened to anyone else?
