is this ok?

so the facilities person called out today and my GM and both MODs asked me to fill in. I’m a CSA and i feel like i already do way more than my job description. They will have me do temps sometimes, run the deli (solo a lot of the time), pulls and cover breaks at multiple stations.. I’m just upset because they waited until i got the deli and drops all set up for the day and then asked me to take over facilities. I honestly just want to go home I don’t want to do this for the rest of the day.

Edit: I appreciate the helpful feedback.

Wawa today

Wawa today isn't the same as it was in the 80s and 90s. You used to walk in, step up to the counter and someone with a wax pencil would take your order on a sheet of paper, then you would watch them take your deli meat and slice it fresh in front of your eyes. This crap they sling isn't the original Wawa. Its maybe sloppy seconds (or perhaps sloppy 22nds at this point).

Excuse me, I'm gonna go toss a cassette into my Walkman, put my wired headphones on, get a couple hairs stuck on the headphones, and chill out to some Journey.

Viva la 80s!

Bring them back PLEASE!!!

  1. The 2ft Hoagie! This is the perfect sub. Loved the long roll, loved the box. Great sandwich for college kids, lasts a couple days or can be eaten all at once for the extremely hungry. Put a cap of 2 per order if they were being abused by people who should have been ordering via catering the day before.

  2. The Waffle Sizzli! I had a couple of these Winter ‘24 at the new store in Enola, before they got replaced by the French Toast Sizzli, which was still pretty good but just a notch short of the Waffly greatness. Now the French Toast Sizzli’s gone with no clear successor.

What's your least favorite thing to make?

For me its a tie between the people who order a double meat classic with genuinely all the toppings or that Mac and cheese panini

What's everyone's thoughts on the villanova university store?

The first wawa IN a university campus. No nicotine, not atm, and no lottery. Only app and door dash ordering...no delivery. Do you think it has staying power and could work at other universities?

Edit: in not on

Store Associate Trying to Move Into Corporate IT

hey everyone, not sure if this is the right place to ask 😭

i’m currently a customer service associate at wawa and recently applied internally for an IT position through workday. i have prior experience/certs in the field and already reached out through email, but haven’t heard back yet.

does anyone know the best way to get in contact with someone in corporate or get more visibility on an internal application?

i’d really appreciate any advice.

Can’t find the secret menu button?

My town got a Wawa like a week or two ago and I saw a video about some kind of hidden menu so I decided to kill two birds and visit it and try out this secret menu. I enjoyed visiting it for the first time but when I tried to find the secret goose button it wasn’t there. Did they change it or I did something wrong?

Popping bubbles

Has any tried the bubbles in their drinks yet? I’m in beverage and a few orders have had them. Somebody even got them in their caramel cheesecake smoothie.

New Point system and your thoughts

What do you guys think about the new point system for attendance? I think it's flawed, exploitable, and generally dislike it. The other day I worked 3 additional hours after my shift because my coworker (who's chill) called out and my manager needed overnight coverage. But, you know, it was fun.

Anyhow, I'm curious what everyone else thinks about the new system.

Wawa No Longer Carries Twist Nipple Gatorade

Noooo!!! My wawas stopped carrying the Gatorade bottles with the twist nipples on top. I’m sure I’m a small percentage that actually will miss these. They were only stocked in blue/red but still.

Points!!!!

I finally found something I’m not happy about the points system. I know a lot of people have complained about it but this is the first thing that has pissed me off. Does anyone know why I got points because my AGM clocked me in on time because my GM distracted me so while I was in the building on time had I used the time clock I would have been late. I know it assigns them automatically but shouldn’t something show up on payroll for them to delete them?
I will speak to my GM about it but I won’t see them until Saturday and want to know if I’m screwed before that conversation or not.

Chicken Taco Pinwheels gone?

When I lived in florida a little over a year ago, I lived close to a Wawa and they still had them. When I moved up to PA I was never close enough to a Wawa to warrent going out to one. Now that I have one close by, I havent been able to find them and realise I lost my comfort food lol.

My question is were these only limited time pinwheels, or did they just get rid of them for no good reason within this past year.

What's the longest shift you've worked at Wawa?

During the "blizzard of the decade" something or other in January/February I walked to work, worked a 24 hour shift, and got a lift home. Got in at 12:15, left at 12:15. My FBM asked if I could stay for the overnight, promising he'd find coverage for my first shift the next day (Monday). Spoiler, he didn't. My GM comes in at 5, after I've been working for 17 consecutive hours and gone through a box of gloves all by myself, and I tell her I'm not leaving because my parents would be mad thinking I called out of my shift. She tells me she won't argue with me, then calls in 2 managers to get me outta there. I was 45 minutes away from working with every manager in a single shift because my AGM had snow-related car trouble. The thing is, when they're paying me 26 bucks an hour for more than a full shift, I'm not gonna say no lmao

Gift ideas

I am a GM leaving my current store to work at another. I’ve been with most of my managers for some time…all but two have been promoted during our time together and they mean a lot to me. I want to get them each something just to say goodbye and thanks for the memories and how amazing it’s been to watch them grow.

Whats one gift you’ve received from a boss that was really appreciated? Doesn’t have to be with Wawa, but may help me narrow it down. I was thinking personalized polos with their names embroidered but not sure if that’s a little lame.

I’d like to stick to around $50 per manager.

Thank you for any ideas!

Self-serve Iced Coffee Question/Recipe

Apologies if this question has been asked a zillion times before:

My first time in a Wawa I ordered a custom iced coffee, it was good nothing to write home about; then I discovered the self-served station.

That was the smoothest and richest coffee I have ever had in my life (I normally brew Dunkin or Folgers at home so my bar is hilariously low), I got the regular and after adding a bit half-and-half it reminded me of Cuban hot chocolate.

Anyway, how is it made? I understand that it is pre-packaged from Wawa and contains milk and sugar, but is there anything else? Is it brewed different, I can't stop raving about it and want to make some at home. I just want to keep a pitcher of it in my fridge.
