4th of July hell
I have no idea if this is even worth going through the trouble of reporting but today felt like my last straw and I honestly might reach out to my local health inspector. Yesterday, our ice cream freezer broke, causing everything to melt and instead of spoiling it, my manger had us just put it in our other freezer to refreeze and put back out when the freezer got fixed. She also is always telling us not to throw away things that are supposed to be spoilage (cookies, pretzels, donuts, etc). My biggest ick was today when we ran out of lettuce because of the insane amount of orders for the holiday and instead of trying to get more from other stores or just locking it, she went to Walmart, bought heads of lettuce, and had another manager bring it to her house, run it through a blender, and bring it in in plastic grocery bags. I’m absolutely disgusted that I had to give that out to people today. Our express case also would not get to temp because our ac went out today (it was over 90 degrees in deli) but we were told to just leave everything out anyway. Any advice would be much appreciated
Blue jeans
Are we allowed to wear blue jeans today?
Wawa or starbucks?
I've been accepted for a job at Wawa and Starbucks and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on which I should choose. My natural instinct is Starbucks but I've had a few friends say they hated it. Wawa is a 3 min walk from where I live, Starbucks is a 6 min walk. Thoughts? (Will also post on r/starbucks)
Truck?
Does McLane deliver today for Fourth of July? No member of management knows so I guess I have to ask the damn subreddit
Refill Yetis and the like
Are we allowed to bring our own bottles like Yetis and Stanley and fill them at the freestyle machine?
Thanks!
Looks like the Hoagiefest “Meal Deal” isn’t as popular as the marketing geniuses thought.
THIS is the Hoagiefest that we all wanted. $6 Classics. I’ll buy chips and a soda if I want to.
Full-time police presence Newcastle Wawa #852
Any reason why there is a full-time cop standing there?
Any other Jersey Shore employees ready for summer to end already? lol
Space to vent for everyone I guess lol. I'm a Team Supervisor down at a shore store. Been dealing with a LOOOOOT of beach traffic and we're also right next door to an extremely popular bar. Crazy shifts lately, ready for some breathing room over here for sure haha. Good luck to everyone this holiday weekend.
Minor rant: no "no egg" choice
Mods delete if this isn't allowed, but the... THE single biggest reason I don't stop at Wawa in the mornings is because after all this time, there's still no button to choose "no egg" when ordering breakfast sandwiches. I don't want to make a pest of myself and shout to the crew to ask them to leave the egg off my sandwich, I don't want to be that guy. You all put up with more than enough that I've seen since I started hanging in this sub, I don't want to add to it.
The other competitors in the Baltimore area have had this choice for as long as I can remember, but this one small thing is the only reason I won't stop at one of the two (soon to be three) Wawas I pass on the way to work to grab something quick for breakfast.
I've reached out occasionally to customer service with what should be a simple request, but all these years later, it still hasn't been implemented. Not everyone likes eggs (thankfully it's not an allergy, I just don't like the texture), but I can't be completely alone in this sentiment since other companies have this as a choice... am I?
[EDIT] Thanks for the tips to look for the "Create your own", I'll look for it next time I'm in there!
Bring back the wawa marble rye bread please!!!
twas my favorite bread for any sandwich I’d order
A Classic Hoagie Ingredients?
Do I get to modify the Classic Hoagie for the special deal? I use wheat bread for my hoagies. How long is the classic in the deal? A shorti?
3rd time in a row my soup was 90% broth.. typical experience has become disappointing.
The last 3 visits has resulted in my soup containing 90% broth.
Super disappointed since I usually don't a chance to buy Wawa. But this will probably be the last time. Also messed up my sandwich.
Considering there were 2 people making sandwiches and it took them literally 12 minutes to make it. I just don't understand.
I was just wondering if Wawa has changed their hoagie rolls since Hoagiefest started this year? The texture and taste seem different, I didn’t know if this was a permanent formulation change.

For customers
To any customer who sees this, be nice to your beverage worker. There’s usually only one of us so don’t go ordering 7 smoothies and 3 milkshakes during a rush. I’ll be glad to do it while nobody but your family is in the store, but not while it’s packed full. PLEASE I BEG YOU. This also happen to anyone else or just me and my store?
