Alternative Direct Deposit Sources Without Job (Unemployment Won't Deposit Due to Fraud Under Routing Number)

I was recently laid off, which ended the direct deposit I had been using to qualify for the higher SoFi banking rates. I qualified for unemployment and set up direct deposit to my SoFi checking account using the instructions in my online profile. However, I have been receiving paper checks from them.

When I called, I was told the routing number is restricted because it is associated with Bancorp Bank, which has high levels of fraudulent activity (probably from prepaid cards). I have to use a different bank account for direct deposit. Meanwhile, I have lost my higher rate at SoFi unless I pay for Plus.

Are there other direct deposits (such as PayPal) I could set up that would count at SoFi?

Morningstar Portfolio XRay Alternative?

Was trying to help my dad, who’s near retirement, take a look at his overall portfolio, including IRA and brokerage accounts. He has a Morningstar subscription and I linked his Schwab accounts to the portfolio function. However, it won’t let me use the XRay analytics because he has more than 150 holdings combined (driven by a lot of individual stocks). I can see underlying individual holding exposures but that’s it.

Complexity aside, are there any other tools
I could use to evaluate his overall exposures for such a large portfolio?

Automatic High Beams Activating in Broad Daylight

We just picked up our 2026 Limited last week. The one thing I noticed this week is that the automatic high beams would be on with the main headlights in broad daylight. The first time, it was just before 8 AM, and I figured that maybe shadows from trees might be impacting the light sensor. About two miles later, the headlights turned off. Today, I turned on the headlights on a two-lane road and the high beams turned on, despite a vehicle in front of me. It was around 10 AM and perfectly sunny.

Anyone else have this issue? Are the light sensors just very sensitive? Where is the sensor for the auto high beams located? The only thing I can think of is there is a sensor behind some of the black trim around the front Toyota logo, which our PPF installer placed a piece of film over.

Driver Profile with Both Keys in Car

So my wife and I just picked up our 2026 Sienna Limited today. We set our memory positions for seats & mirrors and noticed the ability to set our individual profiles in the infotainment system. I went messing around in the settings tonight and enabled the linking of each profile to one of the keys. However, that immediately disabled the memory buttons.

My wife is a bit confused about that after I told her. She was wondering:

- How does she set seat memory then? (I think the answer is she just sets it when she uses her key and it remembers for next time, but I wanted to confirm)

- What happens if both of us are traveling in the car with our key fobs? How does it know which one is driving?

How susceptible is paint to rock chips?

About to pick up our 2026 Sienna Limited in Wind Chill Pearl. I’ve gotten PPF on my last two vehicles because of all the driving I was doing. Was considering it for the Sienna but my wife is skeptical because she hasn’t had an issue with rock chips on her 2021 RAV4, and she wants to conserve cash for our upcoming twins’ arrival if possible.

Can anyone without PPF attest to how susceptible the paint really is to chips during normal driving? We will mostly be driving locally but there will be occasional road trips, including to the beach with a lot of stone driveways.

Trying to Contact Jerry (VSA)

We're picking up a Sienna later this month and wanted a price on a Platinum VSA. Saw the recommendations for Jerry but I have emailed him twice in the past two weeks without a reply. His cell phone rang but there was no ability to leave a voicemail. Anyone else having an issue trying to reach him? I just contacted Troy at FD Warranty for a quote in the meantime.

PHL-BUF June 26 - Great FA Experience

If any of you are flying a PSA route out of PHL, keep an eye out for Danny. He was incredible on our PHL-BUF flight yesterday. He was engaging with everyone on the flight and paid special attention to a nun traveling by herself. He made sure to recognize her, families traveling with lap children, including ours (he knew the last names prior to boarding), and two young adults traveling with cellos (he did lament we didn’t get a performance in flight). Sounds like he was a former teacher from the Philly area and made this his next career. These are the employees that can take some stress out of travel.

For anyone curious, I did fill out the survey in my app and gave him one of my PP recognition coupons.

Laid Off With Twins on the Way

Never thought I'd be here but I am staring at waking up Monday morning with no job. This is my first time in nearly two decades in the workforce, so it's kind of a numb feeling.

I help manage an investment portfolio on a small team at a small company, and have been there for over a decade. Our VP retired at year-end and, instead of promoting my boss, the company hired a high-performing external candidate with a pretty impressive background but an entirely different philosophy. I casually started looking for jobs this year, mostly because I was seeing my ceiling was being capped given the last few VP hires had not been internal promotions.

Well, last week, our VP had a private call scheduled and, right after, invited me to a spontaneous meeting with HR and my boss, where I was told our VP was restructuring and that my position would cease to exist after this week. It was quite a shock for me and our entire team.

The kicker is my wife and I found out in March we are expecting twins this fall, on top of having a very young son. With this job loss, it is likely I won't be able to take any FMLA time in a new role to help care for them, and it's possible I might not be able to take any PTO when they're born (some roles I've looked at don't allow PTO for the first three months). I had been telling people at work that we were expecting, so everyone on that call knew. I'm also losing a remote position that will be impossible to replace (i.e. will require a commute).

The fortunate thing is my network of contacts has been extremely supportive, and I have two screener calls scheduled in the coming days (one similar role that might be a bit of a wash after tax and benefit differences, and another that is less related but pays better and is much closer to home). However, my contacts have had few if any imminent leads. I've reached out to headhunters and others in the industry just for conversations, but I have been met with radio silence (likely because I mentioned I lost my job and am looking for a new one, even if just asking for leads).

I know a lot of laid off individuals have it a lot worse, and my family has really stepped up to support us if necessary, but it still sucks. Trying to put my entire effort into getting out of this as quickly as possible, and trying to be optimistic this happened for a reason and things will turn out better.

Rear Headliner Water Stains - Not Roof Rail Bulletin Related?

I noticed recently that my 2020 RAV4 Hybrid and my wife's 2021 RAV4 both have water stains in the rear headliner around the trunk area. I just took mine in to the dealer and cited the service campaign. The advisor seemed dismissive that the campaign was the issue, citing that the leaks are almost always in the front around the visors. He also said it could be a clogged drain. If it is not related to the campaign, it's a $400 diagnostic fee.

Has anyone with a leak in the rear confirmed it was due to the roof rail seals?

[18 YoE, About to Be Unemployed, Senior Investment Allocator Role (Director/Senior Associate), USA]

About to be unemployed for the first time in my career. It's been over 10 years since I have been in the market, so the whole AI-based ATS thing is new to me. It's hard for someone in my role to easily quantify the impact of their work. I've run this through a few AI-based resume review services but want to see if there is anything else I should consider.

I'm looking for a broad portfolio management role with an allocator (i.e. pension plan, endowment, foundation, insurance company) or a consultant who works with allocators.

Book Main Plus for Someone Using Trip Credit as PP

I have been laid off from my company just before I was to take a business flight. My boss wants to send a coworker (who has no status) but I have to book since the trip credit is under my account. We were flying F round trip but they don’t want to spend more to book his trip with the price higher now.

She wants me to book him Main Select one way and F the other. He’s not checking bags so it would be for MCE seats. I can’t use trip credit for the seat fee and she doesn’t want him to pay with his corporate card.

If I’m signed out of my AA account I see a Main Plus option that is cheaper but it doesn’t show when I’m signed in because I’m PP. How can I book Main Plus for him using my travel credit so I can maximize what credit is left (which I get to keep)? Would rather do online if possible.

Introductory Email for Someone to Forward

Unfortunately just experienced my first layoff in almost 20 years in the workforce. My current role in helping to manage an investment portfolio for a large investor ends next week.

After getting the news, I immediately reached out to some of the investment managers we use via LinkedIn. One of them who is local and knows a lot of other LPs called me almost immediately and knew of a few other investors who had roles to fill. She has asked me to forward my resume as well as a few lines introducing myself. It took me a second to decide how that should be framed, but I believe she wants me to send it as if I'm writing it to her (so she can just forward the entire message).

This feels different than a cover letter so I'm wondering if anyone has advice on how they'd frame this.

Requested 2026 Allocation - What Should We Know?

After testing three car seats in the Sienna and Grand Highlander, we decided to join the club. We have a 7-seat Limited on "order" (i.e. allocation request). While we gave a hard no to the entertainment package that seems to be common, I saw a decent number meeting our needs across the country, so I'm confident we can get what we want.

What are some things we should know as new Sienna owners? Anything we should be on the lookout for as far as must-have accessories?

It seems for the past month or so, Sunday nights have been tough for our little guy. He does not go down as easily and then wakes up in the middle of the night crying and hard to settle back to sleep (i.e. he fights it, fusses a lot, fidgets and tosses/turns even with eyes closed). Last night, he was up twice in less than an hour, the second time very upset.

Granted, you can probably make excuses for each Sunday (i.e. returning from a weekend trip, losing a nap the day before, emerging ear infection). However, my wife seems to chalk it up to Sunday Scaries before returning to daycare on Monday. It's strange because he is doing generally well there.

My question is can toddlers understand the rhythm of a week (i.e. two days without daycare means daycare the day after) without knowing the concept of days?
