Feeling blessed - LE purchase

Feeling blessed - LE purchase

Feeling blessed that my family and I found a deal on a 2023 Sienna LE. We were in the market for a minivan and wanted a 2021+ Sienna because of the style, space and MPG. However price point was just out of reach on everything we saw - max we could go was $30k.

We found a Ruby Red Sienna at a dealership an hour and a half from our home that had dropped to $31k and thought we would go see if we could somehow swing it. After test drive and sitting down with the salesman, my husband asked about wiggle room in the price where he says I don’t think so but I’ll be back. Comes back, and the price was dropped on special by management to $29,900 for the July 4th weekend. We said yes 🙌 and now are proud Sienna owners!!! She’s not the “fanciest” but we’re so so blessed! 😇

We’re calling her Big Red 🚗❤️💨

Sienna 2025 data tracking

Anyone else concerned about privacy? I have disabled all the settings and features I could, but tracking software could still be running in the background; anyone knows if the sat/cell communications run on a specific circuit/fuse form the fuse box?

Let's keep this on topic. Don't start ranting about cellphone tracking, Google/Apple etc.

How many miles are too many? what year is too old? Years to avoid?

I'm currently in the market for a Sienna and I happen to live close to one of my cousins uncle's who own a 2014 Sienna with 160K miles. I asked them if they were planning to sell it and they are planning to sell it in October. So I assume by then it will have a few more miles. I'm pretty sure they have kept all the required maintenance.

1.- My wife is worried about the milage. How much more could this minivan last?

2.- Is it worth buying a 2014 with so many miles? - Not that I can buy a newer one anyways.

3- What would be a fair price to pay for this minivan?

Additionally, I know someone who sells Odysseys and Siennas and he usually has Sienas with around 120K-130K miles for $13K. But the Siennas are usually 2017s

4.- Should I avoid 2017 Siennas? or they are as good as the previous years?

5.- Would it just be better to go for an Odyssey with lower miles?

Thank you!

21-24 Siennas, TIL about a nifty Nav feature

I’m sure it’s in the manual, but if you are using the map with exit list, you can click on an exit number, it will bring up a map of that area with the location of the icons that show up below it, you click on one, it will tell you what it is and can add it to route, or go directly.

Pressing your finger on another area of the map will center on that point if you are looking for a particular icon and it isn’t on the screen at first.

Hope this helps someone! My biggest take away is to try touching all over the display for other potential features that may be hiding.

Is it normal that my brand new Sienna makes loud revving noise when accelerating?

It makes very loud revving noise but the acceleration stays quite slow. Feels like it is in the first gear or neutral (I know hybrids don't use normal gear). Is this normal?

Any red flags with this 06 Sienna?

Looking at buying a minivan for long road trips and the reliability of the Sienna is ideal.

There is a 2006 Sienna CE nearby that is at a fair price and would come certified/safetied. I have been burned once before buying a lemon and want to see if anyone notices a red flag in the CarFax that I’m not seeing.

Appreciate the help.

TSPP Dealers for Sienna purchase

Looking for a Dealer near Springfield Ohio that does the TSPP program on Siennas. Looking for at least an XLE. Trade in would be a 2024 Odyssey EX-L with 45,000 miles

I'm located in Louisiana, but if the savings are enough I would work it as a trip to visit Family in the area.

-40 Winters and Hybrids

Anyone have issues in the deep cold with their hybrids?

We typically get -30 to -40 for a month or so.

Any tips and tricks?

I have a 2026 and can’t find much on this.

I’m thinking the best way to mitigate any battery drain issues will be to use a Noco trickle charger and turn off the kick sensors.

Thoughts?

Give me a reality check?

Hello guys. I am pretty much new to the van scene.

I currently have almost paid off my 2020 Audi A4. I live in small Canadian city right by US border(NY). I got married recently and we have been thinking about getting a used Sienna for somewhere around 20k(basically what we are ready to get if we sell our audi).

We love doing long trips especially in US. Been to Halifax , NS and then Boston lately. We realised that the primary expense is on hotels and if we could skip paying for hotels, we are more than willing to get a sienna soon. To add, we dont use our car in summers as we both ride our bikes to work. But we will need the car for winters.

Any suggestions, please.

Oil change every 5,000 miles?

Really? Seems pretty annoying. Do people actually follow this recommendation or is it a "scam" by Toyota to make dealers money? My other car has 10,000 miles oil change interval.

Edit: I guess I was confused. Toyota has a recommendation of every 5k for service but every 10k for oil change. I guess every 5k service is still annoying but it's not directly related to the oil change. Coming from EVs the idea of wasting time going to dealership is annoying.

Recommendations for new Sienna

I am looking to get a sienna. I want lowest cost but all wheel drive. I think it will give me a Good drive. Aiming for LE, but deal right now is 4k down with 319 monthly 10k miles. I dnt have money to buy or finance. I will have money next year. What should be my plan ? And also how valuable is to upgrade to higher trims.

Knocking sound under hood, blinking security system light, car won't start

There is a knocking sound under the hood, the car won't start and power doors won't open.

The light on the dash indicating the security system is active is blinking.

I can't get the car to start and it's a new battery.

It is very hot out, 100+ F, does that have something to do with this?

I just drove it successfully this morning

Should I just buy a 2026 or wait for 2027 version?

And how likely do you think we'll find one at MSRP price without extra dealership fees?

She’s finally here

Been waiting on our 2026 AWD XLE for 2 months and we finally brought her home today. It’s been less than 12 hours and it’s safe to say I will never drive another vehicle, at least while my kids are young.
We shopped for 6 weeks but our final OTD on this was $46,408. So happy to finally join this club!

'26 Sienna dash wants sign in. What is this 'service'?

When I get in my car I want to drive, so I constantly hit cancel on this every time. Does linking /creating an account have any benefit or is it just some dumb stuff to get data?

Edit more info: It's asking to link/create to a Toyota app account etc.

Dealer add on warranty

This is my first new car and I wanted to get warranties / protection that made sense. How much would you pay for these 3 bundled and is it worth getting?

Was able to negotiate all 3 for a bundle price of around $1500.

Sienna Limited in Vegas area

Went to a couple dealerships this week for a Sienna limited (open to platinum as well). They all seem to be marked up above MSRP still. Lowest I got OTD price was 54k (3k above msrp not including tax), what u guys think?
