House buying in Christchurch:

New to NZ and looking at buying in Chch.

It seems there is a desperate shortage of affordable homes in Chch.

There’s loads on the market, but are a lot of them over priced?

We are seeing some homes that we estimate are $100k over value, but the vendors refuse to negotiate. Sitting there for months on end without considering offers.

Some houses being passed in at auction and still they won’t take offers.

Is that optimism or do these sellers know something we don’t?

I’ve been paid a shit load of shares in error.(Western Australia)

The company paid me the shares which were part of my partners share scheme.
My partner was fired after being bullied out of the organisation but they forgot to cancel the shares in my name.
So I have them in my account.
They’ve vested.
I know I cannot keep them but we are negotiating the terms of my partners unfair dismissal currently.
Can they just take the shares back without my consent?

I’ve lived in Tasmania which is South Node, Saturn and Mars energy the last 4 years.

It’s been the worst place I’ve ever lived for work and social life. It’s been mind bogging my bad and in all the places I’ve lived all over the world, I’ve never experienced anything like it.

We are relocating to Christchurch in NZ soon.
I love the place. The energy, the city and the mountains.

After our terrible experience in Tasmania, I am a little fearful of working and trying to make friends.

I’ve stayed home the last 18 months because of the awful things I had to deal with.

Does my chart look good for Christchurch?

Not sure I can take another experience likes the one I’ve had, it will break me.

PS5 world builder/cosy games.

On the hunt for a good world builder chill game that is interesting but not all about war.

Have played Frostpunk to death, Surviving the Aftermath, Fallout 4

Something immersive but can go at my own pace.

Any suggestions?

Am looking for some feedback on the workplace culture in Christchurch. Aussie who has lived all over the world and moving to live in Chch. Am wondering if the employers there are decent, if colleagues are generally ok in community services spaces and govt roles?
