I know the photo kinda sucks but is that emboli on his pedipalps?
He doesn’t have any hooks but I’ve read that they don’t always mature with hooks but always will with emboli

Need help figuring out if it’s a male or female

I got my first tarantula yesterday and I want to make sure I have its enclosure set up well. It’s a Mexican Red Rump and it’s in a slider medium 8x6x6 enclosure. I used top soil and ecoearth for the substrate
