curious what factors led you to choose Princeton. location, rigor, student life, campus beauty, smth else?

I’m thinking of ranking Princeton mit and Stanford but do they look at the optional video? I think Brown does cause they have that part in their regular application but what about other schools?

I'm doing the IB diploma program and all of my courses are two year, so I haven't "completed" any course yet. But I already did the IB individual oral exam for IB HL Lit, and the TOK Exhibition for TOK I. I got good points on both (39/40 or predicted 7, 100/100 or predicted 10) and want to showcase this somehow, but where can I do this? These are not official test scores, just teacher graded/predicted.

ik rejections don’t actually reflect the real college admissions process but I feel somewhat disillusioned. I thought I had pretty good stats for a fgli student (two sigma amc 10B certificate, hosa ilc top 10, 100% paid summer program at an ivy, full IB Diploma program coursework including HL MAA and Physics, co head of a stem nonprofit that’s not diluted and sponsored by citadel and poh shen loh challenge, etc.) applied to Yale caltech, haverford and pomona. got waitlisted from haverford and Pomona and rejected from caltech and Yale.

My essays I’d say were pretty strong, since the summer program I got into was very heavy with essay writing. Why am I getting rejected everywhere? I seriously need to reconsider my college rankings bc now I don’t think I can get in anywhere. I feel so dumbfounded

curious cause if they do then I don’t wanna waste an honor or Ec slot. I mean I’m assuming they have it in their system but just double checking

Ik there's an AP table on the website and a 7 on IB exam is equivalent to a 5 on AP exam. But what specific courses actually count? For example, can HL Business Management count as an econ credit? And does the course have to be HL MAA rather than SL or MAI for a math credit?

For context, I am trying to do ncm with Princeton. they want 2 teacher recs and 1 counselor along with a school report. If I wanted my employer to write one for me (additional letter) would they have to submit it after I get into the match pool? Or how does this work?

im a poor chud whose family of 3 makes <25k. I’m in involved in a lot of clubs and have a few awards but they’re lowk scattered with no clear direction (maybe slightly Stem)? I’m okay with essay writing. And Princeton is my absolute number one choice. Which do I do?

okay i know ivies are super competitive. like I think all of them only give credit if you get 5. I self studied ap chem and got a 4, but I got 2 B’s both semesters when I took honors chem last year, hence why I wanted to study the exam to balance it out.
im also planning on going into a stem major so…yeah I’m cooked I really screwed up this time.

idk about everyone else but my school has a bunch of kids and the good stuff at lunch is always first come first served, so I guess nobody minds a few germs if skipping the restroom saves time

in elementary tho our teachers did require and monitor hand washing

My friend was practicing with AI for med math and it gave him this question:

A minimum of 1 liter is required of a 15% solution for a surgical procedure. On hand is 750 mL of a 25% solution. How many mL of sterile water must be combined with the 25% solution to produce the 1 liter needed?

AI said it was 400. Using C1V1=C2V2, 1000mL x 0.15 = ?mL x 0.25, solving gives 600mL of the 25% solution. That means the rest of the solution, sterile water, is 400mL, producing "the 1 liter needed"

But my friend said the problem stated a "minimum of 1 liter is required", and "combined with the 25% solution" means all 750mL of the 25% solution should be used. Which means using C1V1=C2V2, ?mL x 0.15 = 750mL x 0.25, solving gives 1250mL of the 15% solution. That means 500mL of the sterile water is needed.

He asked the bot about this and it said "oh nvm yeah you're right but here's why I'm still right" :()

Hellloo! I’m trying to prep for hosa medical math next year. I know hosa doesn’t release past practice exams but I believe Canada has some tests very similar to the real thing. does anybody from Canada mind sharing please?

For context my mom is single. Dad left when I was in elementary school and we haven't been able to contact him for years (so yeah he abandoned us, it's okay though cause he was a terrible person who cheated and told me to stop pursuing a good education). She also is not fluent in English and so has literally 0 friends or people to socialize with other than me (only child who can speak her native language). Other people who can speak her native language are just... really peculiar. Like they think visiting a doctor is considered evil....and kids shouldn't go to college because religion will guide them in life? They even persuaded my mom to bring me to their church so I could learn "fatherly love" since I don't have one. It's creepy and weird. Consider it a regional issue/thing ig.

Next year I will be a senior in high school (so I will leave for college in fall 2027). I'm just worried that my mom will be all alone. No one to talk to. Nothing to do. Just sad and wilting. I'm so grateful for her because she's always prioritized my education. Every time we had some money she would buy me textbooks or other school supplies (we're broke af btw). And she would try to buy me some good quality clothes (like ck and Tommy Hilfiger) while she just bought off brand stuff. She did all this so that she could support my dream (and hers too) of getting into a good school.

She really wants me to go out of state since our state is kind of crappy, so I can't continue living with or near her. I know there's community centers for the elderly but she's 43 and not fluent. I'm also working a job right now. If I leave, her income alone is not enough to pay rent and utilities. I js don't know what she'll do after I leave. I think I'm kind of crying right now. Like bro what do I do? I feel stupid for leaving her on her own it's like my dad leaving us all over again. Any advice please?

There's this video I found on YouTube like maybe 7+ years ago. It was about a yoshi and his fellow yoshis waking up in the middle of the night to find beans. I remember they sneak into the kitchen and grab a can of beans, accidentally microwave it for too long and the can explodes, then they curse cuz their beans exploded, then I think like a mother yoshi comes out and starts chasing them and the whole thing is really funny lol. It was just a few minutes long and animated/cartoonish and 2D. but I can't find it anymore, idk if it got removed or smth but if anyone knows what happened to the video or where it is now pls let me know I really wanna see it again

I got into both Princeton Summer Journalism Program and Young Leaders Summit at USC but can only go to one. Ik princeton probably sounds better but apparently YLS selected 200 out of 11,000+ applicants vs PSJP selecting around 40 out of several hundred.

For anyone who has attended either of these, I'd love to hear your experiences or your takes on prestige/benefits!

I'm planning on applying to Princeton through questbridge or RD. If I were hypothetically accepted, and I had some extra scholarship money (from say, college board), can I keep that money for myself? Like will it go into my bank account to be spent at my own discretion or put into a "college only" fund?
