11B Permanent P2/L2 — Medical Reclass /MAR2

Hello everyone. I have a question, especially for any Career Counselors or anyone who has dealt with a medical reclass or MAR2 before.
I’m an active-duty SSG, 11B, with almost 12 years of service. I’ve been on profile for most of the last two years due to ongoing knee issues, which have also had me working in a staff/shop position instead of performing normal infantry duties.
I recently had knee surgery, and my doctor told me that my knee will probably recover to around 80–85% but likely never return to 100%. My provider is now considering giving me a permanent P2 for Lower Extremities (L2).
My question is: Can an L2 permanent profile trigger a MAR2/medical reclassification, or does it specifically require a P3?
From what I’ve been reading, 11B requires an L1. If that is correct, would receiving an L2 mean that I no longer meet the physical requirements for 11B and therefore have to be reclassified into another MOS that is compatible with my permanent profile? Or can I remain 11B with an L2?
I’m getting conflicting information regarding whether a P2 can result in a medical reclass versus needing a P3 to initiate MAR2.
If any Career Counselors or Soldiers who have actually gone through this process can clarify how it works, especially for an 11B with an L2, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.

“How many grams of gland did they remove from each side?

“How many grams of gland did they remove from each side? I’m just trying to see what the average is. 😆

“In my case, they removed 35 g from the left side and 35.7 g from the right side.”

Seeking Advice from Current or Recently Selected 51C Soldiers

Good morning, Team

I’m currently working on my reclassification packet for 51C (Acquisition, Logistics & Technology Contracting NCO), and I would greatly appreciate any advice from Soldiers who have successfully completed the process and were selected.
I have a few questions regarding the application and selection process, particularly about what makes a packet competitive. I would also appreciate hearing about your experience after becoming a 51C. Do you feel that reclassifying was a good career move? How is the quality of life, work-life balance, career progression, and overall lifestyle compared to other MOSs?
One of my biggest questions is regarding letters of recommendation. I have several leaders who have agreed to write letters for me, but I would like to better understand what a strong 51C letter of recommendation should look like and what specific qualities or accomplishments the selection panel values.
If anyone who was selected is willing to share a sample recommendation letter, even with all names and personal information redacted, it would be extremely helpful. I’m mainly looking to understand the appropriate format, level of detail, and the types of information that should be highlighted.
I would also appreciate any insight into what experiences, qualifications, accomplishments, or skills would make an applicant more competitive for selection.
Thank you in advance for any guidance or advice. I truly appreciate anyone willing to share their experience and help me put together the strongest packet possible.

Has anyone here had gynecomastia surgery through the VA or at a military hospital?

Has anyone here had gynecomastia surgery through the VA or at a military hospital?
I’m interested in hearing about your overall experience and results.
Were you happy with the cosmetic outcome?
Plastic surgeon or general surgeon?
Was your surgery performed by a general surgeon or a plastic surgeon?
How was the recovery?
Would you do it again?
Is there anything you wish you had known beforehand?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through it. Thanks!

Grade 1 Gynecomastia Surgery Through the Army (Tricare)– Looking for Experiences

Hey everyone,
I’m a 39…year-old active-duty Army Soldier and I’ve been dealing with grade 1 gynecomastia for about 10 years.
My mammogram came back as mild bilateral gynecomastia (BI-RADS 2) and my hormone workup didn’t find any correctable cause. I finally got referred to a general surgeon through the Army and I’m trying to decide how confident I should feel about moving forward. He told me he do this type of surgery very often
My main symptoms are:
Puffy nipples
Tenderness behind the nipple area and some pain

A few questions:
Has anyone here had grade 1 gynecomastia surgery performed by a general surgeon rather than a plastic surgeon?

* I have the money for a plastic one but if i can safe some money why not . He mentioned thats he do that very often is one of the most common surgery in army bases .

Were you happy with the cosmetic result?
Did removing the gland completely get rid of the puffy nipple appearance?
For those with grade 1 gyno, did you need liposuction or was gland excision alone enough?
If you’re military, did you have the surgery done through the Army or TRICARE? How was your experience?
Any regrets or things you wish you had asked your surgeon beforehand?
I’ve spent way too much time overthinking this surgery and would really appreciate hearing from people who have actually gone through it.
Thanks in advance. 😂
