Feels like my Black barber is anti-Black.
He seems to hate my natural hair and the way it "rolls up" when he cuts it. I have avoided Dominican, Rican and white barbers because I felt it important to have a Black man cut my hair. I'm now thinking I've been fooling myself. Also, I live in a large downtown area and the Black barbers are far more receptive and respectful to white clients. I can't continue to pay $50+ every two weeks for this. Is this experience just something I'm dealing with?
