Which security key do you recommend: YubiKey NFC vs. Thetis Pro?

Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy my first physical security key, and I’m deciding between these two models. I don’t really have any other options because I live in Latin America, and unfortunately, buying through Amazon is pretty much my only choice.

I’ll be using it with Bitwarden and my email accounts. Buying two YubiKey NFCs, which is the cheaper/basic version, costs me $58, while two Thetis Pro keys cost $44.

However, I’ve seen that the Thetis keys have two USB ports (A and C), but I’m not sure how reliable they are in terms of software support and durability.

If anyone here has used them, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience and give me some advice.

Thanks a lot!

I want to factory reset my phone and reinstall the app.

Hey guys, I have a pretty big question: I’ve had a WeChat account for about two years. I have my WeChat ID, password, phone number, I can receive SMS codes, and I also have my email address linked to the account. However, I need to factory reset my phone soon, and I’m not sure if, after reinstalling WeChat, it will ask me for that verification everyone talks about the one where you need a friend to scan a QR code.

I’m currently logged into WeChat on my phone and have been for the past two years, but now I’m afraid to factory reset it. I’m using Android.

Thanks.

Is it common for Google to suspend accounts because of false positives?

I'm reorganizing my digital life. I've had the same Gmail account for about 13 years and have used it for almost everything. Recently, though, I was the target of some harassment, and I saw it as a good opportunity to rethink my setup and separate things into different email accounts (one for banking, one for shopping, one for streaming services, one for work, etc.).

I still have full access to my old account, so I simply want to update the email address on the services where it's currently registered. However, after reading so many Reddit stories about people having their Google accounts suspended without warning, I started getting really worried.

It made me wonder which email provider is least likely to suspend your account because of a false positive, leaving you with no explanation and no real way to appeal.

I've already created my new Gmail accounts, but I'd like to hear your advice. Would you keep using Gmail for important accounts, or would you switch to Outlook (which I also use, just not as my main email) or Proton Mail? Which provider do you consider the most reliable when it comes to avoiding false-positive suspensions?

I know Microsoft can suspend accounts too, but at least they have human support. With Google, that's much harder, and I'm not sure how Proton handles these situations.

For context, I use my email in a completely normal way. I don't download anything shady or send suspicious emails. I mainly use it for everyday life, work, streaming services, and entertainment. My gaming-related accounts are already on Outlook, so I'm not planning to change those.

I'd really appreciate your advice. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but the thought of losing an email account that's linked to important services makes me very cautious.

I really need some advice

Hi everyone. I'd really appreciate your thoughts or suggestions.

I've been in no contact for a little over a month with a girl who has BPD. We were in a long-distance relationship for about 11 months and live in different countries, which honestly made going no contact a lot easier. Of course, the beginning was awful. She kept trying to reach me and looked for me everywhere.

One thing I really regret is sharing my email address with her. Since I walked away, she's been emailing me from three different accounts. At first, the emails were things like, "Please don't leave me, you're like family to me, I love you," and so on. Then she'd disappear for a week and come back sounding calmer, saying she was in therapy and hoped I was doing well.

Over the last week, though, she's started using my email almost like a personal journal, telling me about her day as if we were still talking, without expecting a reply. I'm honestly fed up with it and getting really angry. I haven't responded in any way because I know that would just restart the cycle.

Today she called me from a new phone number. I immediately hung up and blocked it before she could say anything. After that, she sent more emails saying she was sorry if she'd called at a bad time, that she didn't mean to bother me, that she just wanted to say hi and talk, and that she valued my friendship. It made me really angry. I know none of her messages are hostile, but they're incredibly disrespectful of my boundaries, so I didn't reply.

I've already blocked her on Gmail, but because of this I'm now starting to move everything over to different email accounts and eventually abandon this one. What frustrates me even more is knowing that I'm the one having to change my life because of her. I can't change my phone number because I've had it for almost 15 years, and all my clients, friends, and family have it.

She hasn't been as persistent lately, but it's like she just can't accept that I don't want anything to do with her anymore, not as friends, not in any capacity. I told her that very clearly. Somehow, though, she seems to have convinced herself that after a month I'll be okay and we'll be friends again. That's not what I want at all.

The "worst" part is that her messages aren't mean or abusive. They're mostly apologies and things along those lines. But she keeps crossing my boundaries anyway.

I haven't replied to a single message, but this whole situation has me really angry. Now I have to change my main email because of all this.

What would you do in my situation? Has anyone been through something similar? I just want her to eventually get bored and move on. I don't hate her, but I'm getting exhausted and increasingly frustrated by how intense she is, especially now that my father is in the hospital, and having to deal with this on top of everything else is emotionally draining.

Is there a cooldown period for creating Google accounts?

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I created a new Google account using the "Add account" → "Create account" method in the Google app on my Android phone. I used this method because it doesn't ask me to verify with my phone number. My phone number is very old, and I've already used it to create four Google accounts years ago, so Google won't let me create any more accounts with that number.

Everything worked fine, and I was actually able to create two new accounts yesterday morning using that method. However, today I wanted to create a third account, this time just for work and professional use, using the exact same method. This time, though, Google asked me for a phone number again, so I couldn't continue.

I'm assuming this happened because I created two accounts yesterday and then tried to make another one today.

Does Google have some kind of cooldown or waiting period before you can use this method again without being asked for a phone number? If so, how long is it? A week? A month?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

Are these "flashes of guilt" normal?

Hi everyone,

It’s been over five weeks since I decided to leave, and almost four weeks of complete no contact, blocking her everywhere whenever she tried to come back into my life.

Is it normal to sometimes feel guilty, as if I had abandoned a helpless little girl? I know you can’t really "abandon" another adult, but that feeling of guilt still hits me from time to time.

The feeling usually fades after a few minutes, and then I remember how much I suffered, which helps me stay committed to no contact. But does that guilt eventually go away completely?

Overall, I’m doing much better now. I’m sleeping better, keeping busy with work, spending time with my family and friends. Still, every now and then I get these little "flashes of guilt" whenever something reminds me of her.

Thank you.

Is this allowed by Google?

Hi everyone! I'm new here, and I'd really appreciate your advice.

I'm planning to stop using my current Google account (it's about 13 years old) and start fresh with a brand-new one.

I've been told that the safest way to migrate my Google Photos library without losing dates, locations, memories, albums, and other metadata is to use Partner Sharing. The idea would be to share my entire library with the new account, save everything there, and once I'm sure everything has been transferred correctly, delete the photos and videos from the old account.

My questions are:

Is this allowed by Google, or could it get either account suspended?

I read in another subreddit that Google limits the number of accounts a person can have, and that using the same phone number on multiple Google accounts could be risky. Is there any truth to that?

I have around 100 GB of data. Right now I pay for Google One on my current account. Once everything has been transferred, I would subscribe to Google One on the new account and cancel the subscription on the old one.

I already have four Google accounts linked to the same phone number, but each one serves a different purpose (personal email, banking, store subscriptions, etc.). My current personal account is the only one where I actually use Google Drive and Google Photos.

Besides Google Photos, I'd also like to migrate:

Some files stored in Google Drive.

My WhatsApp backup.

My Google Keep notes.

My contacts.

There's absolutely nothing suspicious about my current account. The only reason I want to switch is because I've been receiving emails that I no longer want, and after trying other solutions, starting over with a new email address seems like my best option.

I know I'll lose my Play Store purchases, and I'm okay with that. Before making the switch, I'd update all the websites and services currently linked to my old Google account so everything points to the new one.

My plan is simply to move everything to the new account, start paying for Google One there instead, stop paying for it on the old account, and keep the old account (and its data) for a while until I'm completely sure I no longer need it.

Does any of this violate Google's policies or put either account at risk of being suspended?

Has anyone here done something similar? If so, what method did you use, and is there anything I should be careful about?

Thanks in advance!

Do they eventually give up?

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I'm mostly looking for some advice, or at least a little hope, haha.

Maybe someday I'll share my whole story, but for now I'll keep it short. I recently got out of a relationship with a woman who has BPD. Thankfully it was long-distance (she lives in another country), but it was still incredibly painful and emotionally exhausting. I was stuck in that situation for almost a year.

Here's what's been happening. It's been a little over a month since I decided to walk away. As expected, she tried to reach me through every online platform she could. I've blocked her everywhere. She even got a new phone number, and I blocked that as soon as she contacted me.

I should mention that during that month, I sent her two brief messages explaining why I was leaving. I asked her to please leave me alone because her behavior was hurting me. I wished her the best, encouraged her to go back to therapy, and asked her to stop trying to contact me.

Since I had blocked her everywhere, about three weeks after I left, she started emailing me. At first, the emails were apologies, asking me to forgive her and come back as "just friends" instead of treating her this way. I blocked that email address too and created a filter so anything from her would automatically go to the trash without me having to read it.

But she has three different email accounts, so she eventually contacted me from one I hadn't blocked yet. That message basically said she still loved me, but if I didn't feel the same, she would settle for just being my friend. Her most recent email was simply wishing me peace, saying she was doing better, that she'd gone back to therapy, and telling me about her future plans.

I blocked that account immediately too, but it completely ruined my day. The thing is, her emails aren't abusive or insulting. I asked for no contact, and she simply doesn't respect that boundary (which, unfortunately, isn't unusual with BPD). It's gotten to the point where I'm seriously considering changing the email address I've had for almost 13 years, and that really frustrates me because I use it for so many important things. Moving everything to a new email would be a huge hassle.

For the past two weeks I haven't replied or reacted at all. Whenever she appears, I just block the account. But it's exhausting knowing she could always create another email address and write again. It almost feels like she's using my inbox as her personal diary, like she's talking to herself. At this point, I'm honestly more frustrated and emotionally drained than hurt. Ironically, her messages aren't even mean—some of them are actually affectionate.

Do you think she'll eventually give up?

I don't want to spend my life deleting emails or wondering if another one will show up. No contact is something I really need in order to heal. I was her "favorite person," and this whole situation is really getting to me.

She's not aggressively chasing me anymore. Her latest emails were just to say hello, wish me peace, and tell me about her plans. I didn't respond—I just deleted them—but I don't want to keep living with the feeling that another email could arrive at any moment.

I just hope she eventually gets tired of trying and accepts that I'm gone. That's something she seems to struggle with a lot.

I remember that when she was in a more stable state of mind, she used to tell me, "If this ever starts hurting you too much, leave. Block me everywhere and don't look back. Don't leave any door open for me because I don't know how to say goodbye. I'll keep trying to reach you until I finally understand that you're really gone, and then I'll grieve."

I just don't know if that day will ever come. At this point, I honestly feel harassed.

Has anyone been through something similar and had it eventually stop? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
