The guy is 22M and I am 20F

So I had a crush on a dude I met in a 2 week course I was doing. Seemed like he was interested in me too. I confessed on the last day and he said he saw me as a good friend and he was into older girls. I was cool with that and we agreed to stay friends and send the occasional insta reel or chat to each other.

Confidence is of course attractive but He is somewhat overconfident I feel. At least that’s the vibe I have been getting lately and after remembering our previous conversations in person during the course.
Yesterday this was a part of our conversation. Seemed like he was fishing for compliments to me cause he knew I liked him so I kind of roasted him lol.

I feel like I should reduce our online interactions.
And I am ofc moving on from him.

This guy from my class who sits beside me( we have fixed seating) seems to be really into me. Always eager to help me with assignments, joking constantly and smiling, telling me about his gym stuff, saying that he’s good at playing guitar, leaning into me when I am telling him something and he even playfully spins my chair a few times a day everyday( we have office chairs to sit on)

He has touched my arm or shoulder a few times to get my attention. He even randomly flexes his arm throughout the day(the right arm cause I sit at his right side).

However today while talking about sports he asked me if I was good at badminton. I said I am average and he then said that he will easily beat me in that. Then he mentioned that his ex girlfriend also wasn’t very good at badminton and she actually took a course to try and defeat him but still couldn’t and that he would sometimes playfully let the shuttlecock bonk her on the face as a way of flirting.

Also a few days back I had asked a vague question if he noticed many people getting into relationships in his previous class because its a pretty common thing in these classes .So he said no and then he had mentioned that there was a spark between him and another girl in that class(which I wasn’t in) but he didn’t pursue anything with her as right now he feels he isn’t in the position in life he wants like paying for dates and all(we are students).

Then he vaguely mentioned something about regretting not doing anything regarding her and said she was a combination of beauty with brains and said that combo was pretty rare. However after that he had asked me what my type in guys was and said that his type was beautiful girls and that his height and guitar skills were points in his favour for dating.

So is he just showing interest in me/flirting just for fun while having no interest in dating me? Or he’s being just being friendly? Or does he actually seem interested in dating me? Because all these seem to be mixed signals to me.

He was fishing for compliments here right? Cuz he rejected me about 2 weeks back.
