New to Toyhouse
I just joined Toyhouse this week and I've been uploading my OCs for the past two days. I already have around 30 posted and more on the way — eventually I'll have 300+ total. I use folders to organize everything, but without any images it looks like a mess, just a wall of blank profiles.
I don't use face claims, especially not real people, so I've been trying to figure out the best way to handle visuals. I've noticed people on Toyhouse use Pinterest images on folders and OC profiles pretty often without crediting or linking, and I've seen AI art too. I'm not trying to do anything wrong, I just want my profiles to not look empty.
Here are the options I'm considering:
AI-generated images — These OCs are purely personal, not for sale or profit. I'd label anything AI-generated so it's clear.
Pinterest images with credit — Either character art or aesthetic images that match the vibe of the OC's world. For example, a zombie apocalypse OC might have a zombie aesthetic image. I'd say the image isn't mine and include a link back to the source.
Simple drawings — I can draw, nothing fancy. Something like a blue heart for male characters, a pink heart for female characters. Just a small personal symbol so the profiles aren't blank.
Edited photos — Could I take a background or stock image, edit it into a cover, and use that? Would I still need to credit and link everything even for something like that?
Just to be clear, none of this is for commercial use. It's all personal organization. I just really don't want 300 white blank profile pictures — it gets confusing fast, especially when I'm trying to navigate folders.
What do you all recommend?
Also, can I add my stories to the character section so I can organize it better. I noticed that you can't add tags to stories and writings.
