Which paper size do you guys prefer for plein air painting?

So this is a 4x4 inch cold press watercolor paper, I've been doing lots of thumbnails recently. I'm taking a trip to France soon and thought I might want to do one plein air thumbnail a day, but I fear that this size limitation may come to bite me at some point.

On one hand, I don't want to spend hours blocking in a huge size and burn myself out doing it every day, but on the other hand, painting outdoors is hard enough as it is - I don't want to have a bad time cowering over a tiny canvas.

So what are your favourite sizes to paint gouache plein air? Would love to hear your thoughts! :)

Trees in Cologne

Sometimes it doesn't need a vast landscape, just a few trees in a city park :)

Trees in the morning

Gouache on strathmore cold press, first time I really used all the layering capability of the medium :)

Sunset in Spain

This is a recent one from a trip I took, I've mostly moved on to gouache but love taking the small watercolor kit with me for when I really can't be bothered to take a tripod. Painted this on my lap hoping the the light wouldn't fade too quickly!

Tequila still life

A painting I did a few months ago as a wedding gift for friends :) really weird how you grow, I really liked it then but see a lot of things I would do differently now. Maybe I'll give it another go in gouache this year!

Quick gouache study in the heat

Hey everyone ✌️ first time here, love the stuff I'm seeing in the sub. Wanted to go plein air painting as every weekend but had to call it and stay in a friends garden to avoid the heat, so I painted some stuff they had lying around
