“Philly Chucky” looks like A in the Halloween episode
From People Magazine:
After a man wearing a Chucky mask threatened a woman while she was jogging in Philadelphia, a bystander intervened, saying she kicked the suspect in the chest.
On Aug. 12, at 5:18 a.m., a masked person was harassing pedestrians near 15th and Chestnut Streets and was denied service at a coffee shop, Philadelphia Police Capt. Jason Smith told NBC Philadelphia.
The suspect’s mask was similar to the Chucky doll from the Child’s Play horror movies, the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) said in a statement.
Minutes later, the suspect began chasing a 40-year-old woman who was jogging on John F. Kennedy Blvd near Philadelphia City Hall around 5:30 a.m. The offender allegedly repeatedly asked the woman, “Are you ready to die?” while holding a phone up to her face, per the PPD. The woman stumbled, injuring her leg, per NBC Philadelphia.
Police believe the masked person is a 16- to 20-year-old man about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was “wearing a white baby doll style Halloween mask with black hair, and a black/blue plaid backpack,” according to the statement. He was last seen walking into SEPTA’s Suburban Station.
A woman who was identified by ABC 7 as Jameka said that she also interacted with the man and tried to warn the jogger that he was following her.
“I started to wave at her across the intersection to say, ‘Hey there’s someone behind you,’” Jameka told the outlet, adding that the man then turned towards her.
In response, Jameka said she screamed for help and kicked the masked man in the chest.
“He just seemed so disoriented about what his goals actually were,” she told the outlet. “Like I had bags, he wasn’t reaching for those. It didn’t seem like he had a clear goal ... to actually do anything. So I was like, ‘Okay, well, let’s see if you can fight,’ and he couldn’t.”
Police urged citizens to call 911 immediately if they spot him and not to approach him. If the suspect is apprehended, he may face multiple charges including terroristic threats, simple assault and intimidation, per ABC 7.
