I got this beauty a few months ago off Facebook marketplace. She came cut up as you can see on some of the older lower leaves. My guess would be pest problems. I quarantined and treated and such even without finding any pests. Second picture is the first leaf it birthed in my care, the rest are pictures of the new leaf it just recently put out. It used to be over a vent, but it didn’t bother the first leaf. This new leaf came out quickly, crispy on the edges and concerning. I checked and thought I might have seen thrips, so I treated (with neem oil, peppermint Castile soap, and alcohol water mix) and wipes all the leaves. I also treated every plant in the room just in case. Everyone got a bath with treatment. I have checked every day since and treated everybody at least every other day for a week now, and see no evidence of pests or anything. Did she just dry out?? Not enough humidity?? I would say I’m an underwaterer bc Thai Cons are more prone to root rot than my other monsteras. Did she just go unwatered for too long?? I watered her a few days ago so she’s looking juicy now but what’s up with the leaf?? Sorry for so much info, thanks for reading lol
Bonus one of him like a month old. He likes to prepare to bite. I wish I had a video but when we’re playing and he wants to bite me, he opens his mouth and pulls his head back to rear up before he bites it’s so funny
Key wouldnt turn so we watched a bunch of videos and took everything apart. One of the pins was popped out, we took all the pins out to see if we could start it. Now we’re trying to put it back together and the cylinder wont go in. We tried to turn the inside of the big piece but it won’t move
I know most people have problems with their variegated plants reverting but I took some cuttings from a plant swap a while ago and the new growth has been more and more white. I have it in a southwest facing window level with the top of the window about 4 or 5 feet away. I live in the Midwest. Should I cut off the white leaves?? It’s like 90% white on the new leaves but the plant is still growing quickly. You can see even on the stem where it starts turning white. (The picture with me holding the 2 leaves also shows where it started. The leaf to the left behind was the first growth from the cuttings and it’s a little more variegated but then it just exploded) it doesn’t get any direct light but a lot of bright indirect light
EDIT: I now see I was just being paranoid, thanks to all the “steak too juicy and lobster too buttery” comments lol thanks for the help and I will be keeping her in the same spot she was in. I liked how it looked, but a dramatic change in any plant gets me sweating but duh, it has a new environment!!
