Arrested for meth and now making ~$400k at 25

I am 25 and do medical device sales.

At the beginning of the year, I was leaving a strip club with my friend sauced out of my mind on molly, weed, and alcohol. We got pulled over (I was passenger) and we both got booked for possession of meth (molly tests positive as meth). Charge was eventually amended to possession of controlled substance once lab results came back and proved baggy I had was molly and many of the surgeons I work with heard about this arrest/saw the busted facebook post. I took most of the surgeons I work with out to dinner separately and explained the situation to do some damage control. I essentially failed upwards as many of the surgeons I work with told me about previous things they had done or stuff they knew previous peers in residency had been arrested for, etc. This basically skyrocketed my career and helped me get enough surgeon support to have my biologic mesh product for breast reconstruction to be championed by the highest volume plastic surgeons at the biggest institution in my state be brought in on a 90% committal contract over the next 5 years.

This institutions yearly spend on the previous product was about $5 million, with mine it will be about $4 million and I will get about 20% of that spend, so the overall amount I will make will be higher than $400k by end of year.

Grabbing a beer by myself to celebrate tonight. Cheers guys.

EDIT: I don't know why this is a point of discussion/accusation people keep throwing at me, but I am not white nor am I Jewish! I am mixed black and white. I've been working in med device sales for years and my arrest didn't immediately "lead" to the contract with the hospital system. There was around a 7-month in between where I was still working this deal and meeting with surgeons, getting a contract like this takes 1-2 years of work, I just had enough surgeon support finally to push it forward.

EDIT 2: The original CHARGE was for meth, I was not actively using meth. The baggy I had was molly, but molly will always test positive as meth on the police rapid tests. This was proven when the baggy was sent off to a lab and then came back as MDMA.

Arrested for meth on my birthday (Hamilton County, IN)

Making this post to give others some hope who may have recently been arrested for something felony level, especially felony drug charges.

I got arrested on my birthday early in the year while coming home-riding passenger in my friend's car (we share the same birthday, decided to go out and get sauced at the strip club).

We both were carrying a few grams of molly we got for free from a stripper i've known for years at the club. Buddy had his molly in the center console lmao, and mine was in my pocket. Dude was going 100 mph down a 55 mph, we got pulled over, and with the molly in the center console they pulled us out immediately. Buddy got 5 charges and after a pat down search, one of the officers saw part of a baggy sticking out of my pocket and yanked it out and found my baggy. We both got booked for possession of meth, which in Indiana is its own charge entirely, not sure if thats federal/how it is nationwide.

Pretty much thought my life was over. I work in healthcare and I was having nightmares about my busted facebook mugshot getting so many fucking reactions. Everyone I work with did eventually see the post and charge and it took a lot of damage control conversations to convince people I'm not sitting around smokin meth. FYI - anyone who has their mugshot posted to the Hamilton County busted page, they will take down your mugshot if your charge is amended, dismissed, etc. if you email them off their website.

I emptied my bank account to lawyer up with a good lawyer and he requested the state file continuance (puts them on a timeline to get test results back within a certain time or case is dismissed) until we could get the baggy I had on me tested, and it came back as molly so charge was amended to possession of controlled substance. Huge win for me.

After charge was amended, the prosecutor offered to dismiss the charge if I took a drug education course, completed 40 hours of community service, and got enrolled in therapy, and periodic drug tests. I haven't completed everything yet, mostly just have community service left to do.

Moral of the story, being arrested on felony charges doesn't mean you will receive felony level punishment, and please please please lawyer up if you have the funds to do so. I'll admit I'm still financially recovering from emptying my account for an attorney, but it was worth it. I'm sure some public defenders can do just as fine a job, but working 1-on-1 with an attorney you're paying outta pocket will get your case some solid attention, at least it did for me.

I'm also very happy about this outcome and about to grab a beer and celebrate by myself at a bar I can walk to lol. Hope yall are having a good night and if you read this as someone currently going through some shit and think its over, just know that its not! Cheers
