Why did 36 republicans vote against banning child marriage in Oklahoma?

Why did 36 republicans vote against banning child marriage in Oklahoma?

36 republicans voted against banning child marriage in Oklahoma while 0 Democrats voted against it. Republicans are always crying about “protect the children” so why on earth would they vote against this?

Edit- I am a Democrat.

Have you ever experienced seeing a loved one in a vivid dream after they’ve passed?

My aunt Jan passed away about two years ago. She was an awesome aunt. She always smelled like cigarettes and had gigantic boobs that she would strangle you with every time you hugged her. She had this raspy voice I could recognize from a mile away. We spent a lot of time at my grandma’s house.

I was really struggling mentally for the past couple of weeks and I think she came to see me in my dream. I’m an atheist and I don’t believe in ghosts or anything supernatural but this dream was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I was at my grandma’s house and I heard that raspy voice calling my name specifically saying poo poo which was my nickname when I was a kid. I knew it was her. I called her name back and that’s when I saw her coming up the stairs. I asked her “what are you doing here?” She gave me a hug and strangled me with her cigarette smelling boobs. It was so real I felt like I could smell everything. The lighting at my grandma’s house was also different. It was very, very bright. The light coming in from the windows was almost white, and everything seemed a bit pale from the brightness. I woke up shortly after and cried immediately.

Has anyone else ever had a dream like this?

Why do new moms treat their childless friends like garbage?

So I’ve had several friends who have had a baby within the last two or three years and it seems like as soon as they have the baby they turn out to be just assholes. It’s like they want nothing to do with people who don’t have children anymore. But yet I see all these women who just had a baby complaining on Reddit how their childless friends no longer wanna be friends….

For example, I had one specific friend who was pregnant and throughout her pregnancy, I helped to clean her house and cook dinner cause her baby daddy was useless. When she was in labor, I kindly asked her if the baby had arrived yet and she fully cussed me out, saying that she’s tired of all of these people asking and that she doesn’t owe anyone anything. Mind you all I did was ask if the baby was here so my response was “I’m sorry if I crossed the boundary. I hope you have a safe delivery.” After that, I’ve honestly just been avoiding her. Her baby is one years old now and I’ve probably seen her twice.

For another example, I had another friend who was pregnant and we were talking one day and I told her how I was excited to buy the baby some gifts as I saw some really cute ones at target. Her response to me was “it’s my baby not yours.” I blocked her immediately and never spoke to her again.

Another example, I had a friend who was pregnant and as soon as she gave birth, she just completely disappeared forever from our entire friend group and turned into somewhat of a religious freak. Our entire friend group no longer talks to this person as well as she would never respond to any of our text messages yet she would randomly show up to large events and stand in the corner and stare at everyone.

I’m just wondering if this is something normal that happens? I understand having a baby is stressful, but there’s no excuse for treating people badly, especially ones who were trying to help you create a village that you didn’t have.

For some context , I have been with my boyfriend for three years. I am a 25F and he’s a 26M. I have had the same job throughout the three years and consider myself stable. I have saved up over $40,000 for my future and gotten a masters degree.

On the other hand, my boyfriend’s been somewhat stable at the same job cover. It seems he doesn’t take absolutely anything seriously. There was a time where he was in between jobs and didn’t pay rent for four months so I had to cover him. He’s never actually cared about paying rent on time. He just pays me whenever he feels like it. He has saved up zero money for a down payment on a house, zero dollars for a vacation, and says he doesn’t want to get married for another 4 to 5 years.

I’m starting to feel like this relationship is a waste of my time….
