If the Silver Bus is late today...
This is why. Two of Baltimore's finest are eating lunch in the bus lane. Took the bus a few mins and a lot of effort to get out from around this BPD vehicle doing nothing.
To be clear, police officers deserve lunch, they can just park legally like the other 500K of us do.
Mood Uplift for O's Fans! [Quasi-shitpost]
I'm not certain if this is allowed so I suspect it might get removed. But from reading this sub today, I really really feel like we O's fans need a smile. So I am re-sharing this wonderful classic - Manager's Corner.
Better times are ahead, happy weekend fellow fans!
Metro SubwayLINK Service Issues
I typically only receive text notifications from MTA about half of the time there is a service disruption. Given that, these are all the text alerts I've received just in the past week.
IMO this is a bigger problem than the lack of a Red Line. The system would get so much more usage if it could demonstrate a track record of operating effectively. Annapolis can blame the lack of a red line on Hogan, but there has been ample time to improve in this area and it just hasn't happened...
I recall there has been some discussion about MTA on here, so I felt compelled to share...
Edit: obviously the heat-related issue was a reasonable anomaly.
Reported Illegal Parking on Tuesday
DOT responded today, 81 hours later. Surprise!... the car was gone! Is there really any point to reporting things to 311? /u/BmoreCityDOT /u/Balt311 ?
Centre Street Cycletrack in front of the Walters
Firstly let me say that I am not presenting this as a rant or complaint per se, but more for an exchange of thoughts.
It appears that busses are using the Centre St. Cycletrack as parking in the middle of the day. I didn't see any evidence or signage that suggests this is allowed. That said, the Walters is a major school field trip destination and the busses have to park somewhere. And BPD obviously doesn't care.
So I guess I'm pondering what the best solution is? So we essentially close the Cycletrack for 6 hours a day? Do we make the left vehicle lane bus parking during midday non-peak hours (traffic seems minimal midday)? Do we sent the busses somewhere else?
I'm especially interested in whether this is on the radar of Bikemore or /u/BmoreCityDOT if anyone knows. TIA!
