Now that I (M) got rid of my chest hair, my nipple’s shape is often visible through my shirt.

They’re not especially large, but definitely there. If you noticed this, would it put you off?

Has your hair removal journey made you feel sexier?

With all the different reasons people have for doing hair removal, have you found yourself feeling sexier as you’ve gotten smoother? Or has your hair removal been for reasons having nothing to do with sexiness?

Dry out the mosquito ponds

After those rains, it’s time to go out and search for anything on your property that’s full of water that the mosquitoes will use to breed. Drain them or drop in mosquito dunks.

Sante Fe - Santa Fe

I’d like to point out as gently as possible that it’s Santa Fe, not Sante Fe. Santa, you know, like the dude.

IPL 12-Week Report

I'm a Braun 5 user and I've finished my 12th weekly IPL session. Per Braun instructions, I'm now "done" and go on monthly maintenance sessions. I'm a brown-haired, lightish skin, moderately hairy man. Here's a report on how it went.

I wanted to go as bare as I could get, everywhere except my head hair, my beard and my eyebrows. The summary is that now I appear smooth to the casual observer, my skin is much less irritated, and two to three minutes of shaving in my daily shower keeps me smooth to the touch everywhere. I'm happy I did this!

Feet - smooth with a couple of relaxed (soft) hairs on my big toes.

Legs - smooth with just a few relaxed hairs except the knees have some stiff (stubble-like) hairs hanging on.

Butt - much smoother. The hairs that hang on are relaxed so I can sit on them without angry skin.

Crack and anus - much reduced, a few relaxed hairs.

Genitals - much smoother skin, far fewer hairs. Some relaxed and stiff hairs hanging on in the junctions between legs and abdomen. I only started doing this whole are on week 8 so I'll continue that for a while.

Pubic area - while vastly reduced, there are some stiff hair strays. It's easy to shave here now but it still needs daily attention for a smooth feel.

Stomach - smooth with a few relaxed hairs right on the centerline and around the navel. I could never shave under the belt line - red bumps and ingrown hairs. Happy skin now.

Chest - smooth except stiff hair right over my sternum and a few relaxed strays over my pecs. A handful lay on the border of my nipples. I found I could zap that border but didn't start until week 8.

Back - didn't do this. I had laser done here years ago. It's good enough.

Shoulders and upper arms - stray hairs here are mainly gone.

Neck beneath my beard - I tried zapping this to clean up the part I normally shave. IPL didn't seem to work here at all.

Cheek above my beard - just two small patches where a few hairs got shaved daily - smooth.

Neckline beneath my head hair - IPL really helped clean up this area except a few gray hairs which are IPL-proof

Thinking about IPL?

I think the (under $250) sale for the Braun 5 is almost over at Costco and I saw an ad for Ulike for under $250 also yesterday.

Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 - Have you had further progress after 12 weeks?

For folks who faithfully did IPL with the Braun for 12 weeks BUT still had areas with more hair that you like, have you seen significant further improvement by just continuing weekly treatments?

Has anyone NOT gone through a red bump adventure when starting hair removal on parts that were never trimmed/shaved/waxed/etc before?

It seems to catch so many folks by surprise.

Why hair removal?

In just a few words, why do you want to remove hair? This can refer to your entire body, or just one particular area. I’m guessing there will be lots of different answers to this.

How about ears?

I think it was sometime in my 50s when I got stray hairs that started to pop up on my ears. Not a lot, but annoying to me. I’ve always shaved them, but it’s a daily chore. What’s the best way to get rid of them entirely and forever?

Refining my IPL technique?

I’ve noticed that sometimes when doing IPL, immediately after you flash an area, the skin feels softer and smoother.

Why does this happen sometimes, but not always? I went back to some areas where it hadn’t happened, and noticed that the hair there, while shaven, wasn’t as short as I achieved other places. Most of the time, these were the stubborn areas where IPL doesn’t seem to work as well.

I revisited shaving, and took special care to make those hairs as short as possible. After this, the IPL felt hotter and the resulting skin felt softer - more so than just doing a second IPL pass. I also started to run my hand over every area as I finished it to check that it did feel smooth. Still rough areas got more IPL attention. It’s too early to say if this is going to make the IPL more effective, but I’m hopeful.

I should mention that I’m several weeks into my treatments, and had already discovered that my skin tolerates more than one pass when needed.

If you try this or have already done this, please post and let us know how it goes. Thanks.
