How to catch bass

Was hoping to get some tips to target bass better, these warmouth are aggressive and will hit a 1/4 beetle.
I’ve had a few fish come of a rattle trap, feels like the hooks are dull..
What other lures might bass prefer here?

Low oil 06

Checked my oil, and seems super low, theirs consistently a space between the lowest point of the stick to the hatching. I’ve already got some oil on the way but would appreciate thoughts. Oil pressure was normal on the way home, my check engine light shut off and so I’m a bit paranoid. Thanks.

Looking pretty low, huh?

~5 minutes after driving, check second picture too.
Check engine light went away today so has me paranoid.

First day using a beetle spin, and first catch on a lure.
Also found this old “Al’s goldfish” lure. I’ll order a pack of em and try them out. Probably keep this one on a keychain lol

I picked up an ugly stick last year, 7 ft, medium. 8lb line. I caught 1 fish a few weeks ago on a bobber and worm. ( had to learn how to actually tie a knot )

I’d like some advice on what I should be throwing. I think my rooster tails are too small, and adding snapshots makes it hook the line most the time. I’m unsure of how big my hooks should be. I’m just trying to catch whatever bites.

I think my ponds are kind of garbage too. I’ve been out probably 40-50 times within a year it’s getting really disheartening.
