Is limo tint in the front windows not illegal anymore?

I was at Serramonte and I saw several cars with limo tint (5% VLT) on their front driver and passenger side windows! (I believe 70% VLT is the legal limit) I’ve even seen several cars with really dark tint on their front windshield!

Did the laws change or are cops just not ticketing anymore?

Hole between the foundation and exterior stucco, can I plug it up with expanding foam?

We have ants in the house and while I was trying to find where they were coming from I found this big hole just above the cement foundation and behind the stucco wall beneath the kitchen window. It looks like there are two pipes but one of them is broken or missing. Does anyone know what they may be for? I want to cover it up with expanding foam but I also don’t want to block anything important. Or do I need to figure out a way to place a screen in there so no mice can get in? Thanks!

My wife’s 2014 Prius 4 with 144k miles had the dreaded death shake and was losing coolant. I was hoping it was just a bad coil but when I pulled the plug in cylinder 1 the plug was wet. Then I looked into the cylinder and could see that it was moist on the top of the piston. But I still held out that I was wrong and that I just needed a new coil. So I moved the #2 coil to the #1 plug.

The car actually stopped shaking at start up for about 4 days. But when it came back I knew what I had to do. So I brought it to my mechanic and he did the deed!

With my recent shoulder surgery I knew I couldn’t even begin to attempt this job. So I left it to the professionals. So about $3k and three days later the car is up and running like a champ again. The labor cost is a killer!!!! But I understand because it’s a PITA just to get to the spark plugs!

He also changed out the spark plugs and all four coils along with an oil change. Apparently the plugs weren’t tightened down properly and it caused what looked like some burning on the sides of the coils. Frankly, I blamed the previous mechanic for a shoddy job with the prior plug replacement. (I was the prior mechanic…. Oops!!!) But all is well in the world and my wife is happy she has her car back. And really, that’s all that matters.
