[WP] The galactic council has a 1-10 bar to determine how dangerous/habitable worlds can be, from a garden world to death worlds. Earth is categorized as a 7.5 world, though humanity have been known try(and occasionally succeed) in colonizing category 10d death worlds.

How would the Empire react to the beings and things of the hamlet(darkest dungeon)?

NOTE: I mean, just react and maybe view the beings. Besides the farmland, the darkest dungeon, and MAYBE the courtyard, I lack faith that they would have much issue with the beings in and around the hamlet. I'm more curious how they would just react to the horrors and beasts of the tainted land of the swinefolk, cove denizens, and the time fractured beings of the farmland.

Would also be curious how a squad of the empire soldiers may fare against some of the beings, or Mayne the Rose knights? Be curious for sure ^^

Posting a fanfic here?

Mostly just curious if it possible to post a fanfic I'm pondering on making in this subreddit and what flair I'd need to use(if I can post said fanfic here or not that is). Not much else to it :/

[Memory Transcription subject]: Oros, outer rim task master, Yotul servant to the black foot clans

Date [Standard human time] October 23rd, 3012.

I release an agitated grunt as I gaze down upon the meak aliens as they pick and toil at removing the old ruins that dot this place. This current lot, though... They were somehow worse to deal with than most other slaves. New thralls were always a toil to make use of, but these ones are proving to be most agitating to not only me but my masters as well. Weak willed, and fearful of just about everyone here, they are clearly not used to heavy labor neither, nor long time of work as well. It was merely mid day, and yet half already seemed ready to collapse! One of them, a 'Gojid' if I remember correctly, pauses for a moment. I let out a grunt before I pull out the whip and strike them, bits of their quills loosening as I strike them.

"MOVE IT THRALL! THIS BUILDING WON'T BE REMOVED BY PRAYER ALONE!" I yell out, my Hensa letting out a low growl, agitated from the slumber it was under. I let out a scowl as I readjust the mask on my face, a general sign of my station besides from the whip in my hand as I give my pet a few pets, calming it as it returns to a calmer state. I return my gaze back down to the thralls, seeing them work harder to year down this old build of human yore, likely the materials to be used to repair the space station and manor that was found on the planet. It's a fair deal easier to repair the old than to build a new one. Especially when the space sport just needs some repairs to its structure and new antennas as well.

And Colov likely would want the manor repaired to use for himself, likely as a center for the new colony the clan wishes to create here. Unclaimed, habitable worlds where a general rarity in the outer rim, the olden days of the cataclysm, saw to that. And when Scout Ships had reported this old agriculture planet so far from any other people... Well suffice to say we where lucky these new species seem to lack any form of combat ability, most of the ship crews where greenhorns, as well as being more used to store supplies to reclaim this planet for the black foot clans.

These new people, however, definitely had thrown a rather major wrench in the plans. From what I heard from passers by, these beings come from a so-called 'Federation'. A clearly weak and doctrine based society, if anything could be seen! They definitely have a fear for my masters and superiors if nothing else, and more so than could be considered normal. Something about their eyes seem to freak these creatures out the most, which is personally weird. Why would eye position freak someone that much out?

[Memory Transcription subject]: Colov, worker drone scavenger warlord

Date [Standardized human time] October 23rd, 3012

*I stare onwards at the digital hologram before me of Colos-1, the planet we were currently flying over. Much of the planet was rather sparse, likely had been a rural world before the collapse. Though it was on the smaller side, a habitable world that could be used to grow more crops or perhaps be used as a mines will still benefit the Black foot clan. However, this was rather minor compared to what we had discovered, that of some new species. Most where currently being used as thralls down on Colos-1, but a few of what where expected to have been chiefs of this fleet where currently on my flagship, mostly being interrogated for more information of this 'Federation' of theres. It was likely they were a new creed to space if their lack of space combat was anything to go off of, despite having admittedly better ships. On par with mid rim warships, though lacking much in terms of armor.*

*Currently, with what we have thus far found, it is likely we would be sent to find out more about these creatures. It's unlikely that these 'feds' would just stand idle when this fleet doesn't respond back. Humans and worker drones tend to react poorly to suddenly missing ships but wouldn't be too far of a fetch to presume these people wouldn't be the same. The fleet is actually expecting some more ships to bolster in case they do send a retaliatory fleet to figure out what became of this one. Or at least a scout ship anyway. Either case, it's unlikely for us to see any new ships from this Federation, as according to the computers on one of the ships(which was noted by one of the void born having subpar cyber security) this fleet of 'archeologists' wasn't expected to return or send a reply in around a solar week. Give or take anyways... I let out a robotic sigh as I soon turned my veiw back to the hologram of Colos-1, idly watching it turn. I wonder what will happen in the future, given what was found here...*

(Again, deeply apologies for subpar writing, just been having this be on the pan for a bit too long -^-')

How would the empire deal with the world of battle brothers?

To those that aren't aware battle brothers is a mercenary simulator set in what I say is late stage medeival era, full plate armored knights, heavy crossbows, and the southern city States pocess simple blackpowder guns(like mortars and early fire arms.) Can also say there are low magic things as well, specifically necromancy and witches which can mind control beast and man as well as make wounds they take go to those they had hexed. There are also Alps that haunt the dreams of men, giant dragon like lindwurms with acidic blood, corpse feasting beasts that grow in size, and the more they eat. Also walking trees, living stone, and also orcs and goblins. Also, other horrors as well, but it may be good to look stuff up yourself n all.

Also, I can say there isn't any major unifying faction, but can say the noble houses and the southern city States aren't the type to not ally together if a major threat (like a invasion force) appearing. Also, depending on when the gate appears, the army may also need to deal with greenskin invasions or the awakening of ancient dead. And then there are the mercenaries themselves, which can get stupid at times.

More detailed list of factions:

Northern noble houses: several noble houses that viy for control and power, using both recruited soldiers as well as hardened mercenaries. They tend to quarrel with each other, and whenever religion is brought up with the southern city States, holy wars against them, but will generally ally themselves together if a major threat would appear. Like a sudden gateway where a bunch of foreigners starts showing out of.

Southern city states: Unlike the northern nobles, they generally have more advanced weaponry but less trained soldiers, using both indebted(slaves), conscripts, and mortar crew to deal with threats. They, unlike the northern folk, also make use of handgunnes, firelances, and fire pots, which could at the least frighten the legionarres of the Empire, likely not expecting such, nor mortar crew bombarding their positions. They also make use of assassin's as well amongst their ranks, though rarely.

Orcs: Larger than a man, the larger cousins of goblins are towering and powerful foes. They weild weapons no man can effectively weild(as in, can be used, but is unbalanced and unweildy), and are more than able to cripple a human with a single blow. Orcs are also nomadic by nature and will generally pillage and loot when they can. They also tend to be the type to attack anything, be it orcs, men, goblins, beasts, or those weird humans over there. Orc young are most numerous and tend to be quite meak(for an orc), usually only wearing hide or bits of metal they looted. Orc berserker and warriors, however likely, will be a far greater threat, as the berserkers weild brutal weapons and become more vicious the more they kill, and the warriors commonly wear around 2 to 3 knights worth of armor on them, making it a rather difficult time to harm. The warlords, however, are the most terrifying, able to rally there lads and terrify the enemy with great battle cries. Orcs, however, lack anything in terms of ranged combat and prefer to charge in, which may be something an empire general could take advantage of.

Goblins: Far smaller than their orc cousins, the goblin is a meak, cowardly being. Unlike the orcs, however, they are more setetairy, living in large cities ruled by a council of goblins. The armor and weaponry they weild fits their style of combat, that of ambushed, sneaking, and turning folk into pin cushions. Though most goblin are effective conscripts, that of the skirmisher and ambusher, there are those from the higher castes that appear, such as wolf riding warriors, overseers weilding armor piercing crossbows, and strange shamans that cast black flies and tangling vines around their foes. The empire are likely to expect vicious fighting from these beings if they attack any large city of the goblin, as well as the outposts as well.

Barbarians and Nomads: Living respectively in the far north and south, they are nomadic clans of wild men and desert dwellers. Though they likely would be a minor threat to the empire, they would likely lose patrols to the roving bands and find it difficult to deal with any area where either congregate in mass. The barbarians have no fear of meeting their ancestors and will charge into battle, usually weilding heavy weaponry. They are also known to use warhounds and semi tamed unholds, beastmasters keeping them in line. The nomads, however, tend to stay farther away from their foes, using nimble grave to dodge blows as well as graceful blades to slice flesh from bones. The nomads also tend to throw sand in the eyes of their enemies too.

Undead: Basic undead, wearing rusting armor, and weilding old tools are weaponry they were buried with. They tend to be pretty slow, but they don't usually stay dead long unless their heads are removed or destroyed. Necromancers also usually are around as well, raising and pocessing the dead, giving them abnormal vigor unknown to the average dead. Fallen knights and heroes also may appear, still coated in heavy armor and weilding weapons of war. Unlike the normal dead, merely removal of the head may not work. Giests also may appear as well, spirits that have not left to the afterlife, ranged attacks fase through them, though close quarters attacks may still strike them down. Their banshee wails weaken the resolve of those who hear it, as well as their touch seaps strength from men. The ancient dead also appears, from a long since fallen empire, the legions still form battalion and sheild walls better than any living force, Regiment to a fault as they march to reclaim the land from the living and any would be invader. Though the armor and weapons have long since rusted, they still have their training, and they have become unbreakable and vigorless in undeath, able to outlast any mortal man in a battle, but their bones are brittle to blows, far more reliant on their armor for defense. Pale priests also lurk amongst the legions, spewing miasma that sickens men in the smog, as necrosavants(basically vampires) appear in the flanks and drain men dry to fuel their health.

Beasts: Most beasts the empire will face are relatively meak and likely easy to deal with. Direwolves, hyenas, and serpents may be an issue to a patrol, being fierce and wild, and they likely will be true threat. The Nachzehrers (also called nachos by battle brothers community) may be an issue, for the feast on the dead, growing larger and more terrible, the largest able to eat a man whole. None the less, they are the weaker of beasts and can be routed by a more proper patrol/army. It is that of more mythical beasts that may prove the issue. Giant spiders haunt the woods, ensnaring people from villages or camps at night to feed their young, fangs piercing armor to pump venom within, as the swarm of young dwell in eggsacks, bursting out to feed. Giant Unholds, akin to giants in size, can cause issues to deal with, their flesh regrowing at frightening rates, their large hands able to clobber anyone foolish enough to get too close to them. They are, however, general peaceful, preferring not to attack, and more bellow threats at any would be attacker. Bog and tundra Unholds generally being meaner and tougher than the normal Unhold. The Lindwurm, however, may prove to be a far more dangerous and terrifying foe to the empire, being more than large enough to bite even a heavily armoed man in half. Their hide able to take vicious blows as their fangs and club like tails crush men with a single blow. Their blood also is highly acidic, spewing out on those too close, melting through many a material, weakening the armor before the beast begins to feast. They Solomon come alone as well, commonly coming in atleast duos(as one heavily armored dragon like beast isn't enough to deal with). And then their are the living trees, highly durable and able to peirce armor with piercing roots, their heart defended by a sheild like structure that reforms fast. When struck, saplings come out, making it more difficult to slay the fell beasts. And then there are Kraken, once sea dwelling monsters able to take on entire fleets of galleys, they now dwell within the murky swamps, devouring any who come to close. Even that of the great dragons are no doubt must be wary, lest they be dragged by a great many tentacles to the gabbing maw of the giant beasts. Also hags too, which use mind control and hexes also part of faction n stuff :/

Annnnd that should hopefully be it :3 hopefully -^-'

On the shoulders of giants: question

So, still trying to think of how to contiue the story I'm currently making. Which is by all accounts that of humanity sorta being a precursor species n all, but they are still around. So far a archeologist group of Feds have met some outer rim marauders n all, but I don't 100% know where to go from here. You guys have any suggestions/questions on story? Will try to reply when I can!

Also for those curious on this, here is link to first bit of this:
