Is a Babolat Pure Strike 1st Gen still worth buying in 2026, or should I just buy new?

Hi everyone! Beginner here, currently looking for my first tennis racket. I found this Babolat Pure Strike 1st Gen (100 sq in, 290g, 16x19, Grip 2) for ₱3,000 (~$52), condition is listed as 8/10.

I know it’s an older model, so I’m wondering if it’s still worth buying today or if I should just spend more on a newer racket.

I’m also considering a newer Babolat Pure Aero Team Gen9 (285g), but it’s around ₱12,700 (~$220). My goal is to buy a racket that I can use for a long time and hopefully not have to upgrade again, so I’m really trying to maximize my first racket purchase.

For those familiar with the Pure Strike 1st Gen, would you still recommend it in 2026? And if you were in my position, would you go for the used Pure Strike or buy a brand-new racket?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you po 🎾

Help Me! Beginner Tennis Racket Recommendation Please🎾

Hi po! Beginner here, currently taking coaching and playing 1–2x a week. Planning to buy my first racket sana na pwede ko magamit long-term habang nag-iimprove.
Currently using a Western grip, so I’m also looking for something that can help with topspin and stroke development.

Torn between:
• Babolat Evo Aero Gen2 2026 — ₱9k brand new
• Babolat Evo Drive Tour Gen 2 2026 — ₱9.5Kk brand new
• Babolat Pure Drive Team 2021 — ₱6k used
or may other recommendations pa po kayo na within 10k below?

I really like the Evo Aero aesthetically 😭 and brand new siya, pero medyo hesitant ako sa price. Yung Pure Drive Team naman is a really good deal. Medyo may trauma lang sa secondhand transactions kasi muntik na ako ma-scam before 😭 Plus, hindi fully shown/disclosed yung condition ng racket. Been using borrowed Yonex but when I tried a babolat pure drive (not sure model), its more comfy. Since ipon ko rin gagamitin ko, gusto ko sana yung purchase na hindi ko pagsisisihan.

For those na mas experienced na sa tennis, ano po thoughts niyo? Worth it ba mag-add ng \~₱3k for the Evo Aero, or grab the Pure Drive Team at ₱6k? Which one would be better for a beginner and something I can grow into long-term?

Thank you po, super appreciated po mga thoughts nyo🥹🎾
