Just finished the building process of the Aardvark from Academy. I went in expecting TONS of issues as I have heard from online notorious things about this kit but I’d say it wasn’t that bad. The biggest issues were unclear instructions and the pieces that are supposed to cover the opening didn’t provide a real folded option. I examined finished works and found a few that just accepted the pieces for opened wings but that’s not really what I wanted so I completely skipped that step. Welp next step is to prime it up and get some pre shading in.

I have well over 100 boxes with most in perfect condition and, unfortunately, the more expensive ones ($150+ sets) have minimal to moderate water damage. Is there any reason to keep these? I thought about reselling like a bum if any collector wanted them but honestly they’re taking up too much space and I’ve even filled all the boxes with smaller Lego boxes.

Just copped the 1/48 F-111 A from my local model kit store. I’ve heard a lot of bad things about this kit and is probably why it was only $50 there and $46 on Amazon. Curious if anyone else built this and have any tips on possible issues I could face with this.

Finally completed this model kit of the Bengals F-18D and this is the first one I’ve finished painting for a year or two now. This was my first Hasegawa model kit and I’d say it was pretty good overall, kind of disappointed that the armaments are not included. My biggest issue was with the decals as the film felt so thick and there was certainly no need for so much clear film. I should’ve cut up the decals to minimize the clear film but I completely forgot about it so there was some silvering despite using tons of microsol and microset. There are no major issues I’d say with my finished product but there are certainly dozens of small issues like not painting the rings between the exhaust and the body, small tears in the decals, small spot stained by varnish which leaked through the masking on the canopy, not a lot of weathering, etc. With this one completed though and having lessons learnt I can turn to the rest of my completed stash. This was my first time ever using microset, microsol, and varnish coatings.

So far going great but never ever doing bengals livery again with Hasegawa 😭. Miserable experience with the water slide decals

Could’ve done the tail fins completely separately and not gone through the masking but completely forgot about it and prematurely attached them to the body.

Hi yall, I have this master airbrush air compressor with none of the addons. I last used it two years ago and left it in my garage unboxed and tried using it today. I attempted to turn it on and test out the air but the compressor made no sound and the gauge wouldn’t increase either and stayed at 0 psi. The light turns on and after a while it heats up a lot but nothing functionally works. How should I go about this?
